Anyone receive their Vaja case yet? Or expecting it this week? Looking forward to pictures.
I waited too long to order and now they are saying 15 business days just for a stock case.

They were 15 business days for the In Stock cases from the very start -- so nobody will have one for about another week+ (they ship from Argentina). I ordered right when they were adding them to their site but I'm still in the 15 day group  Hopefully they start shipping earlier, we ordered a custom made iPad Air case and it shipped out about a week sooner than expected.

Good to hear. I may be canceling my Calypsocase and ordering the Vaja after hearing that the Calypsocase is a patent leather

Why would a company put the phrase "In Stock" on items that now take 25 days to ship?

Yeah I dunno why they did that... I ordered right away for the iPhone 5S and they shipped immediately from Georgia. I guess because of the design change maybe they are taking longer? Still they're definitely not truly in stock though!

The Calypsocase looks stunning. But I have a feeling that the Vaja case is more luxurious

The thing about Vaja is that camera cutout...don't like the idea of the color of the phone plus the antenna lines showing. Plus I dislike the silver brand plate

I'll be sticking with Calypso since (if the pics are accurate) has no branding and just looks more luxurious and minimalistic. I've had the likes of Valextra and Hermes in similar leather and it wasn't as shinny as patent leather. That comparison is one sided but I'm willing to at least give Calypso a try if not naked it is

Wow my case just arrived, guess they really did ship out early… Never got a shipping confirmation or anything even

That vaja might be exactly what I'm looking for. I really like the Apple leather case I have, but I'm afraid it offers no protection for drops. The vaja looks like it has a bit more cushion. I wish they hadn't stamped their name on the back though. I hate additional branding.

Anybody know exactly how much bulk they add? Any side by side comparisons to other cases? I can't add to much size or weight to the plus before it become unwieldy.

Vaja iPhone 6 Grip Case -- Pictures / Review

Just received my Vaja Grip case for the iPhone 6

Pictures can be found here:

Overall the case is very well made, as Vaja products always are. The case feels great in your hand, and maintains the overall form and slim feeling of the iPhone. The leather is soft and great quality as always.

The main NEGATIVE thing that I quickly noticed is the "face down" raised edges on the case (which keep the phones screen from hitting the table or ground) are not high enough to protect the iPhones screen. The edges are almost perfectly even with most of the screen (as seen in my pictures). I had the Vaja Grip for the iPhone 5S and the edges were raised well beyond the screen -- so that you didn't have to worry when placing the phone face down, or dropping it. In this case, the phone screen will be hitting whatever you set it on (not good).

I am pretty sure this issue is a design problem / defect, because if you look at the pictures on the Vaja website, you can clearly see the edges are raised much higher in their pictures.

I contacted Vaja about the problem with the raised edges, will see what they say. I'll be returning it and getting the Calypso if they can't make the edges raised. The way it is now provides basically no protection, one drop and the screen will be broken. :(

----------

Oh and I noticed on their website that the Grip for the iPhone 6 / iPhone 6+ both show the raised edges [these pics have been up since the Thursday after iPhone announcement]… and the newer Grip LP photos appear to show no raised edges, which is what I got on my Grip case… ugh.

I ordered a Vaja Grip last week for my 4.7" 6. I kinda regret my color choice of pewter gray because it occurs to me skin oil + the elements will have it looking icky in short order. Shoulda opted for simple black. Oh well. I still look forward to receiving it hopefully before the 20 days the order confirmation quoted.

What color and leather finish is that?

Crown Blue and True Blue -- the one that's in stock

----------

Even putting a Spigen Screen Protector on actually makes the screen extend out beyond the case  hopefully they can revise this asap.

So I ordered 2 Vaja cases. The first one I thought was really in stock, when it wouldn't be shipped for 25 business days. I was so pissed about that so I cancelled that order. I kept the custom order.

I just now purchased a black Cabrio case. I have a feeling the Cabrio case will be ready before the Vaja case I purchased a week ago.

Vaja vs Calypso

Hi, came across this thread while searching for iphone 6 plus cases. Just wondering how it all work out for you. Are you happy with the Calypso or the Vaja? I read somewhere Calypso takes very long to ship. Is that true? Thanks for your help in advance.

I was looking for a case with a front lip to protect the screen [which Vaja initially showed on the Grip but then later removed], so I ended up returning the Vaja. Other than that its nice though, and they're coming out with a more protective one in the near future according to them.

The Calypso never shipped any of their cases [the company claims to be shipping them everyday, yet NOBODY has seen a photo of an actual case or has an actual case -- and the CoFounder who posted in the thread won't even provide a photo]. It turned out to be a disaster and most people cancelled their orders and got a refund. They are extremely incompetent, so order at your own risk.

See the thread here for more info on Calypso:

Thanks Munitalp! Sorry it was a disaster. I read somewhere that people complained the company ship whenever they feel like to. Haha! The pictures sure look good though. After reading all the posts, I guess I'll just get a Tumi for 6 plus, not the best case but I know I can return it easily if I am not happy, and it offers a little more protection than the Apple leather case. Good luck with your search!

Anyone else get the Vaja Grip for their 6? I've been contemplating getting one of their pique (perforated) options. I actually don't mind the lack of lip as I prefer my cases thinner...

I was hoping to potentially pick up a used one in the mean time but it looks like the marketplace is hidden from me as I am not a habitual poster so my post count is too low.

The Calypso case looks nice but not worth $162, especially with the delays and issues people seem to have had with the company.

Was curious if anyone is familiar with both cases/companies, which case you suggest I go with.
I am debating between the Vaja Grip for the iPhone 6, and the Calypsocase Cabrio.
I am wanting something that is nice, but also is well made and reliable.

[doublepost=1480320399][/doublepost]I would be very careful engaging with Calypso Crystal. If possible I would avoid unless you want months and months of lies and deceit, if you are lucky enough to receive a response at all that is. I ordered a case in September and it is now nearly December and I still haven't received the goods I ordered. I have sent numerous (over 20) correspondence notices to the company and they have only replied three times each with an excuse why my order hasn't been manufactured. It's very frustrating that an organisation has taken my money over three months for such a simple product and they can't deliver. When you ask simple questions like, " when do you think I will receive my item " they ignore you and don't respond. I am in the process of commencing legal action to recover my costs.

There are other phone cases out there of similar quality and the issues which are evident while engaging with Calypso Crystal are simply not worth it. Other similar stories from disgruntled customers frequently exist online if you search. Although they are very good at creating their own positive view of their own organisation.

Hi, I have information available regarding Calypso Crystal Cases ... my rating of the company products and workmanship - 1 Star.

Reasons......

1. They made me wait over three months before I received case, stating quality issues with every part of case from leather to metal band to workmanship. They ignore your pleas for an update and continually lie to you.

2. After all the wait you receive a $20 phone case in a nice box? The quality of this case is very poor. Considering the amount you of time waited. Don't let comparisons with designer finishes confuse you. The leather used on my Zurich Night iPhone 7 plus case is cheap, shinny, thin, was full of scratches and marks, looks nothing like picture on Internet website, has no calypso motif as a shown, workmanship is woeful and leather looks like cheap pvc that a child has stretched over its school books. The front 'book cover' is a cheap cardboard affair, that after four weeks is showing signs of breaking away. The leather itself not stitched in one area, but glued. Quality of leather poor with cheap shiny appearance. The metal banding is proud of the case and can cut your fingers if not careful. I used to buy Piel Frama, they build quality workmanship and materials.

They did not respond to my email about their quality issues and have very poor customer care to match with the products and I just can't be bothered anymore. This will probably last 6 months max, big mistake shop elsewahere.
