Mine came today. I went with the London color, which was used in their video. I like the concept a lot. Out of the box, however, the top is not flat. This might be an effect of humidity, so hoping it improves. Also, the magnet system, at least on my case, is not doing anything.

On the plus side, the leather is beautiful, and stitching is great. Just hoping I can flatten the top a bit . . .

Vaja, you bastards. Why do you tempt me so? I have to get this now..

So I was looking at the colors, as well as the Vaja rep's comment about the demo being the London color, and am having a hard time seeing that color change to the video color.

Surely it looks more like the Orange? I can see that becoming more 'burnished' and patina'd to look like the video.

Thoughts?

Also, for those who have had London for a couple weeks now, any noticeable change in appearance?

The London color is really nice on black. I would call it a nice tan color, with minimal if any orange tint. I have had one for a couple weeks now. It is very slightly darkening. On the downside, unlike some of the photos I have seen, the top is not flat. It was terrible, now is better but still does not lay flat on the glass. I tried to "train it" but with limited success. Also, the magnets on mine do nothing. Despite all this, it is a pretty cover. I have two iPhones, and since this is on my work-provide iPhone I think I will stick with it for a while. But heads-up on the warped cover . . .

By the way, anyone else think reviewers get hand-picked, pristine review samples???

for 80 bucks I can't take the chance of me getting one like this...

Does a bear sh#t in the woods? :D i'm pretty sure reviewers get 'select' samples... although at the same time, a company like Vaja also tries to make sure the review sample gets back to them in funny ways... look at the color selection they sent to this poor guy:

Anyhow, could you please post some pics of your London case in natural light, i.e. either outdoor and/or inside without flash?

The installation of the case is quite precise to get a flat fit. If yours is not flat, you did not attach it properly to the phone.

Mine is flat.

Mine was not even close to flat BEFORE attaching anything. The back was flat (perfect) but the cover was warped. No way any magnets could pull the warp out. Frankly, I had to find a paper clip just to see if I had any magnets at all.

They are sending me a replacement as this did not resolve on it's own as they thought. I will say, after quite a few years of buying cases from Vaja, they are quicker to respond then they used to be.

So here is the original case the day I bought it. . . I have been waiting to get the new one to see if it was better, but, since there seems to be so much interest . . .

Holy warp!

That is some nasty ****, JonMPLS - hope you get your issue resolved quickly.

I received mine in Orange today, and its quite flat. The Orange is not quite so "Orangey" - more of a bright tan, which looks nice. The fit and finish is impeccable really. Sits absolutely flush with the phone if installed correctly. Folds back quite flush as well, and feels great in the hand. Here are some pics:

Wanna trade?? ;) I really like this case, once I can get a better version. Feels really nice. What surprises me the most is how good it feels when folded back to take a call. It seems to make the phone more comfortable to hold.

I got mine today, got the Carmelo. It looks more like a dark brown (matches the color of the inside).

Overall I like it better than the surfacepad. It's easier to fold and use left handed. The magnet works, though wish it was a bit stronger.

Hopefully (maybe apple??) makes a cover like this that attaches with magnets (like the Smart Cover). That way you can easily take it off and not worry about the glue. Ideally I want to only use the cover when I take it out but the glue kind of makes you leave it on all the time.

My Nuova Pelle (Black) arrived this morning.

Must admit, this is by far one of the slimmest, nicest looking case I've owned and that includes cases before my iphone 5.

The fact that it adds next to no bulk to the phone closed or folded back is just a bonus.

If your anything like me, there's nothing as nice as a naked iphone 5 but adding this case is the closest I'm going to get to the naked look but with front and rear protection.

Yeah, people have said $80 is steep for a phone case but once this case arrives and is put on your phone you soon realise that for the quality and look of the case the $80 price tag is soon forgotten.

If your looking for a case like this and your sitting on the fence weather to purchase or not, stop getting splinters, get off the fence and get one on order.

Forgot to mention, I'm in the UK and from order my case was with me in under 3 working days. Hell, I've ordered things from my own country and they've taken longer to deliver than this case.

All the best

Any chance of some photos? I would get a black one if they weren't charging $36 shipping to Australia

Vaja has some new Ivo Top flip cases, with improved features. One of these features is using the bridge leather and colors found in the Nuova Pelle range, especially that awesome London color.

I posted about it in an existing Ivo top case thread here:

https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/17529735/

Come discuss if you're interested.

So after a few months of use how is these Nuova Pelle case holding up? Besides the smudge screen issue that everyone notices.

Anyone get the smoother Caterina leather option?

I'm trying to decide between the Wallet, Nuova, and Flip..
