View attachment 2392963Ok I got it to stay around 50 with these settings (also note, I'm using a 1440p external monitor; but perf wise it's the same on macbook's one too).

I was having 20-25 before, default was set on 720p and "Performance". Main impact had the Render scale slider after I reduced to 50%.

Any other recs?

But I'm noob AF, still don't know what to do in this game, got a cooking station and made some KFC stuff :))
I remember when I played Minecraft with my buddy and he has over 2k hours and I was building 3x3x3 blocks things I was calling houses and he build an entire castle in a week I was shocked when I logged in and saw :))

Compared to Rust, I liked it cos I can take it at my own pace. I couldn't stand Rust, looks fun when others are playing but hell no I'm already having a hard week at work I need to chill haha.
Here's a snapshot of the settings that I'm using and it works pretty well on the M1.

has anyone figured how to open the commands console? should be F5 but fn+f5 doesn't do anything :/ -- figured. Add -console in steam launching properties.

Pretty interesting game.
Managed to build a 2nd home, a better one.

Also, had to install it on PC too. On Macbook I still have to tinker a bit the settings because the frame drops just kills me. But it's cross platform so that's nice.

also, does anyone knows if it's native M on mac or is ran through rosetta? on steam req shows minimul intel mac and recommended M silicon, which worries me a bit haha.

I need Diablo 4 running on my M2 Air.
You and many others, especially when not at home it would be nice to have it. I tried on my MBP (and other systems) many, many times. GPTK, Crossover, Whisky. No luck… it works, then breaks, needs reinstall to work again, sometimes reinstall GPTK, Crossover, Whisky, rinse and repeat.

GPTK is just what it is, a developer tool to test stuff and help port shaders. Crossover and Whisky are an absolute mess. Some games work, some don’t. Those that work, work for some and not others. Support forums are full of issues. I’ve given up a while ago. Real bummer, a native macOS would be very welcome, given that PoE is pretty much unplayable on macOS as well these days. I’ll be at my vacation home in a few weeks for about a month or two and I think I just need another gaming PC there.

Ok, this game is addictive. I got 17 hrs in :))

So I managed to build the house (the small one) and then I said, well, I need an annex for all the storage. So then I wanted a two level annex which turned to be soooooo difficult to build especially the roof because at that point everything was breaking :(( even now I'm thinking if I get a raid and they break the base pillars, I'm screwed :))

I've been hoping for this to be solution to all my Apple gaming problems (along with them opening iOS to emulation) for a long time. It's been a lot of close, but no cigar for me.

I eventually punted and bought a Steam Deck.

Todays update fixed the annoying “Ping” bug when adding a note to the map with a “P” in the title.

As someone who likes to mark a lot of landmarks, this has pleased me greatly.

How do I find people to play RP :)) my partner isn't into this, my Minecraft buddy has a switch only and other friends don't want Valheim.
To note that I'm a complete noob, but I did beat Minecraft once (with tremendous help from my friend haha)

Reddit “Valheim lfg” is a good place to look for other players

i play with a group that is staring a new season on August 2nd. One of the two servers will be kept vanilla to allow Mac, XBox and PC players to all play together. Our Discord page is called Elysian Valheim Roleplay (EVRP)

This reminds me of Conan Exiles which has added a bunch of building DLC, new structures, although disclaimer, I’ve been out of that for a while.

I bet not everyone here knows that Odin is watching on you in Valheim (reminds legends of Herobrin). I met him first time only after 100+ hours of gameplay. He can appear randomly in the distance from you and will disappear if you try to come closer.

Moreover, you can also see Tor during the storm.

I asked in another thread but it’s a better question here:
Curious if you can you run a solo game on your computer, invite players to your private game (server), find a public server which holds about 20 players, or can you rent a server?

Yeah, you can host the game and open your world to other players. You can also start or join the public server, but the maximum number of players is 10 (maybe I am wrong about the number).

To be frank, I recommend to play Valheim with friends, as playing solo may be a bit boring.

This is how many of these type solo/small server survival games are. There is a tadeoff, have fun with friends, but this is more perishable, or play solo at your own pace and for as long as you like.

When I was playing both ARK: Survival Evolved and Conan Exiles with a guild, I found that those hosting the server, lived on the game and consequently did everything there was to do on a map, and would then load in another map, yet me and a play partner were not finished with our base and I spent a lot of time enjoying and building bases so I did not appreciate the perishable nature of online servers.

In Conan Exiles (solo) I built my own town, but even there you are not comple safe with updates, but better than someone else’s server, that is if you are into base building. 🤔

Yeah, I know how is it. I really like building in such games without any hurry. I can easily spend several days just building a base.

I was building a castle in Valheim while playing with friends. However, they were not about building, but fighting. Moreover, they spent some time grinding, while I was absent.

So, we finished the game even before I finished our base, and they stopped playing. So, it was for me like I spent lots of hours for nothing.

By the way, because I have a Mac (the host was Windows), I can't even download our map.

So you get it, the trade off. I’m surprised you can play on the server on your Mac, but not download the map to your computer. 🤔 Several years back, I was playing on someone else’s ARK: Survival Evolved server, they moved on, but the host was nice enough to send me the map file, with all the bases and tamed dino’s on it. That was great! :D
