Based on your earlier list, My3G was the culprit?

Shortly after my post from a couple days ago, I did install SBSettings and Five Icon doc. I think it may had to do something with SBSettings -- maybe having SSH running? I cant say with any certainty what it was that was affecting the battery life, but all I do know now is that I only have RockApp and MyWi 4.0 installed and my battery life is just fine now.

I was thinking it had to be mywi..I had "normal battery life until mywi..I pay close attention when i download apps like this....I must just uninstall and get refund

lol.... wifi uses less power than 3G... and when you're not using wifi, it's not draining battery. wifi signal only has to travel to your router, small power output. 3G needs to transmit 5W to a cell tower.

Mail and safari are native iphone apps.. they'll keep coming back.

also, programs can run as system processes and not appear in the sbsettings programs list.

i think all of your precautions are having a placebo effect on the battery and thinking it's better.

battery usage is still good for me, but it's not better, lol

If wifi is on, then your phone is constantly searching for wifi networks, analyzing those networks to see if you have connected before, and connecting you to them, then disconnecting when you're not in range anymore.

Do you think that happens without touching the battery?

Any list that you find about saving battery on any wifi-enabled device will mention turning off wifi when not in use.

Does Mobile Substrate contribute to battery drain.

I noticed something peculiar with regards to Mobile Substrate.

JB'ed my IP4 the day the jailbreak came out. Everything worked great and battery life was the same as pre-JB'ed. Two days ago, there was an update to Mobile substrate in Cydia so I updated. Afterwards, noticed that battery was draining faster.

This morning after unplugging my phone from the charger at 100%, I watched the number dropped to 99%, 98%, 97% within 2 minutes of checking email. Knew something had to be wrong. I checked in Cydia to see if there's anything installed that may be causing it and coincidentally noticed another Mobile Substrate update. Did the update and device rebooted. Battery percentage jumped back up to 100% and after 2 hrs of standby is at 99%.

So my uneducated guess is the previous Mobile substrate update was the culprit and the previous update was buggy somehow. For those with battery drain, check to see if you have MS installed and whether it's the latest one. Thoughts?
