Hey, where are these discussions on science & politics - have I been locking myself away in the PPC forum :)
Most of my posting around this place in done in there as well these days, and I'm not nearly as active as I once was; I used to be on here everyday, several times a day, but I think today is the first time I've checked MR in probably a week or more.

PRSI is obviously the go-to place for a lot of serious discussion here... sort of, if you know what I mean. ;) But there's plenty of other forums out there which specifically cater to topics regarding science and politics, among countless other things, if this place doesn't tickle your fancy. :p

To learn.
I have been using PCs since the mid 80s. The Internet had a huge impact on my everyday life as it is like wolrd's biggest library for me.
I joined the first Internet community in the 90s. Since then I stayed only in some, IT, Watches, Pens (mainly fountain pens), HiFi, Mobile, Books etc.

How many posts do I need to join the PRSI discussion?

A full century of posts, in other words, one hundred.

Although there are a number of people who frequent that corner of the forum who confuse insult with argument, thinking the the former is an adequate substitute for the latter, some of the time, it can be interesting. There have been times when it was even instructive, or educational to pop in for a quick peek to see what was going on...

Thanks for the reply :)

I literally just read the FAQ and saw my own answer two minutes ago. Amazing what you can learn when you read.

I have been lurking that forum for a couple of weeks since MacRumors is one place not blocked by my work, just signed up so I could actually post in there, but I will post everywhere as well.

I like to think I can argue a point without having to belittle or demean anyone.

You want to see inactivity, go take a look at Doctor Q's thread on Top 50 Posters. The vast majority of top poster rarely or never post anymore.
