I got the same thing. You can buy one off ebay for $6.00 (which I did) or keep calling. I chose to buy one off eBay.

I just ordered the SIM on eBay literally 2 mintues ago, haha. I think at the end of the day, if I can't find a CS rep that's willing to switch my unlimited data to a new line, I'll just change my number (or my wife's, shhh).

So I did this today. My brother and his wife are getting a divorce and she had a 4G device on his plan. So he said I can pay him for the data and take her SIM card, so right now I'll get the $50 plan for 10GB a month.

I did all of that, cut the SIM and the iPad is working great with LTE, but now my brother can't access the plan change feature online. He doesn't absolutely need to, but the Verizon website recognized I was using an iPad almost immediately after putting the SIM into it. Is this normal? I thought out had to enter the MEID into the system for Verizon to recognize which device was being used.

Will my brother he able to access the change calling plan, texts and data thru the website if I keep the SIM in my iPad?

You will have to put the sim card back in a phone to change the features.

I had something similar where I left the 250 messaging plan on the number that went to the ipad which is pointless. I called Verizon and told them to remove the text plan from specific phone number and they did so with no problems without questioning it.

So you can change your plan you just have to call verizon to do so.

So, I have my microSIM in hand and have been calling twice a day for 4 days to see if any of these reps will activate my SIM without the device, and none of them are doing it...

Any other ways I can get this SIM activated without an MEID?

Has anyone got this to work on iOS 6? I tried for about an hour today. I took the sim out of my phone, put it in my iPad, and then tried many combinations to get cellular data to work. I tried reprovisioning the account, resetting the account, and completely resetting all network settings. Nothing worked. It consistently said that it could not activate the cellular network.

This worked great for me on iOS 5.1.1. I hope that Apple/Verizon have not disabled this in iOS 6.

Nevermind. It still works on iOS 6. I had to completely wipe the iPad and start over though. The cellular data network would not activate otherwise.

This is getting annoying. There seem to be bugs with using an unlimited SIM on iOS 6. Today on my way home I lost LTE and dropped back to 3G. As soon as that happened the iPad suddenly thinks that I am not subscribed to a cellular data plan. Any combination of resetting the cellular account and reprovisioning will not get it to recognize that I have a valid SIM on an account. I don't want to wipe again... But, yes, I am using BETA software. This is the price you pay...

I am having a similar problem on my Verizon Ipad 3. I used my unlimited 4G sim on the Ipad and got it to work. However, it stopped working all of a sudden. I repeated the same steps as before regarding resetting the subscription services and reprovisioning account but can't get it to work. Anyone figure out the solution to this?

Does switching the SIM back and forth between the smartphone and the iPad 3 cause this issue? It seems like those who left their SIM in their iPad as a dedicated data SIM haven't had this problem.
