they refused to sell me a full price iPhone 7+ in corporate store! I had to finance.... give me a break! Everything is about the up sell! I guess I either have to order online or leave Verizon... my rant is over! lol.

No way, I'd walk out myself. I have heard that before about Verizon because their phones come unlocked. So they block the sale in store unless it's financed to ensure it stays tied to your account and they can charge the upgrade fee.

Plus pay the line upgrade fee.

Whereas buying it outright right away would allow it be a BYOD with no upgrade fee.

My bad, you are right. I forgot that that has been added to carrier financing now. But the OP could have gone to Apple as mentioned above.

Financing isn't an up sell. Its the same cost overall. You could have just financed it and paid it off immediately.

I agree but they are pushing it hard and they also see it as tying you up to a long term commitment.
So they would rather have you do that instead of paying full price and using up a phone that they have in stock that could go to someone else switching over or starting a device payment plan and getting an upgrade fee out of it too.
Nothing they do is random, its all to make profit and lock in customers in the end :)

I think the OP talked to an employee who didn't know what he or she was talking about, as that is not Verizon policy.

Call Verizon (not the store you visited) and explain to them what happened. Be very detailed and provide names and the store number and or address. Remain calm and polite. Also let them know that the incident is giving you second thoughts about staying with Verizon. Give Verizon a chance to make it right. If you handle the call correctly and put the tirade to the side, I believe Verizon will be very apologetic and make things right for you and then some.

If you are buying unlocked, Why in the heck would you do Verizon??????
Seeing how he is already a Verizon customer, it would make sense that he would want to do phone business with Verizon.

Verizon is the only competent wireless carrier in the US in my opinion.

I am new with Verizon and thus far, my experience with them has been a pleasure. I have contacted them 3 times and they have been very professional and prompt in addressing any questions, as well as a billing name correction. Before Verizon, I was with Sprint for 15+ years. And the way they conduct business is pale in comparison to Verizon. I hope my new dating relationship with Verizon works out long term.

Verizon customer service is also based in the US. So I support a company putting Americans to work.

As others have said, just go to an :apple: Store. Why go to Verizon unless you absolutely have to?

I just goto the Apple store when paying full price. Verizon employees make things overly complicated.

Buy iPhone at Apple store, swap sim cards, done. This requires zero interaction with Verizon and I...just the way I like it.

Manager came out and also refused to sell me the phone at full price! All they wanted to do was review my account and try to sell me things I didn't need! What a joke... I guess they don't want my 6 lines anymore. Lol.

Does Best Buy sell unlocked?
Last I bought dirt from them, they wanted the Carrier I would be using even though I was not immediately activating it.
Yup, I'm on T-Mobile, but I requested it to be first booted with a Verizon sim, which they did. This automatically unlocks it.
