For a $50 markup they do.Does Best Buy sell unlocked?
Last I bought dirt from them, they wanted the Carrier I would be using even though I was not immediately activating it.

Nope. Just ask for it to be price matched. I've never had a problem with them doing it.For a $50 markup they do.
Try doing as I suggested. I believe that that will yield results. Call Verizon.Manager came out and also refused to sell me the phone at full price! All they wanted to do was review my account and try to sell me things I didn't need! What a joke... I guess they don't want my 6 lines anymore. Lol.
I think the OP talked to an employee who didn't know what he or she was talking about, as that is not Verizon policy.
Call Verizon (not the store you visited) and explain to them what happened. Be very detailed and provide names and the store number and or address. Remain calm and polite. Also let them know that the incident is giving you second thoughts about staying with Verizon. Give Verizon a chance to make it right. If you handle the call correctly and put the tirade to the side, I believe Verizon will be very apologetic and make things right for you and then some.

Seeing how he is already a Verizon customer, it would make sense that he would want to do phone business with Verizon.
According to his posts, he has 6 lines of service with Verizon.I would assume he is out of contract buying unlocked, and if that is the case, there are far more reasonable ways to get service.
I am new with Verizon and thus far, my experience with them has been a pleasure. I have contacted them 3 times and they have been very professional and prompt in addressing any questions, as well as a billing name correction. Before Verizon, I was with Sprint for 15+ years. And the way they conduct business is pale in comparison to Verizon. I hope my new dating relationship with Verizon works out long term.![]()
In the future just sign in at Verizonwireless.com and add it to your cart for full retail price. Then edit your shipping information and change to pick up at a local store. I just tried this and it looks like it would work fine.they refused to sell me a full price iPhone 7+ in corporate store! I had to finance.... give me a break! Everything is about the up sell! I guess I either have to order online or leave Verizon... my rant is over! lol.
It almost sounds like a non-corporate store but a reseller. Either way just a bad store it seems as that's essentially not Verizon's policy to refuse things like that and do it the way it was happening with you.Manager came out and also refused to sell me the phone at full price! All they wanted to do was review my account and try to sell me things I didn't need! What a joke... I guess they don't want my 6 lines anymore. Lol.

Because iPhones sold by Verizon are unlocked and work on every carrier, and OP might not be near an Apple Store or going to Verizon was just more convenient. There's no reason to not buy from Verizon if you can get it for the same price. If you are buying unlocked, Why in the heck would you do Verizon??????
So is the Sim Free version at Apple is unlocked and can work on every carrier, it's the same exact model. And there is also the option of ordering online from Apple.Because iPhones sold by Verizon are unlocked and work on every carrier, and OP might not be near an Apple Store or going to Verizon was just more convenient. But you do realize that you can "finance" and then turn around and pay it off, don't you?So is the Sim Free version at Apple is unlocked and can work on every carrier, it's the same exact model. And there is also the option of ordering online from Apple.
I agree there is no reason not to buy from Verizon, but the minute they tell you can't buy the phone outright, and be forced into financing I'd just tell them good day and take my business elsewhere, that's just me.
Even if that is the case why should you have to if you have the money right now?But you do realize that you can "finance" and then turn around and pay it off, don't you?
Agreed. It could be an unnecessary inconvenience, but I fail to see reason for all of the shock/outrage in this thread if all devices can simply be immediately paid off anyway.Even if that is the case why should you have to if you have the money right now?
Yeah but that or going to an Apple Store, or just order online from Apple stops the drama of a thread on macrumors. Adding the with the usual anti (insert company here) high fives. But you do realize that you can "finance" and then turn around and pay it off, don't you?
The only qualm is if one must pay an "upgrade fee" associated with a DPP.
My point was not that the Verizon version is better than a phone sold anywhere else, just that Verizon sells the best version available and there's no reason not to get that one.So is the Sim Free version at Apple is unlocked and can work on every carrier, it's the same exact model. And my point is it's the same exact model. So there really is no best if it comes to someone deciding to go to Apple or Verizon, they would be getting the same exact phone. My point was not that the Verizon version is better than a phone sold anywhere else, just that Verizon sells the best version available and there's no reason not to get that one.
I don't understand why you're telling me this, though. Someone asked why would someone get it from Verizon, like the Verizon model is somehow inferior, so I said Verizon sells the best model available and there's no reason to not buy from them if the price is the same. And my point is it's the same exact model. I think we all can agree that more options are better when it comes to purchasing a phone, so be it a Corporate store, Apple store, online just do what works for that individual.
Not unless you need that kind of storage and plan on keeping it for a while. When I go to Apple Store tomorrow, should I just buy unlocked 7+ 256?
Yes would be the same version you were getting from VerizonWhen I go to Apple Store tomorrow, should I just buy unlocked 7+ 256?

So I don't understand why you're telling me that Apple sells the same model. That's not relevant to what I was saying.
Plus pay the line upgrade fee.
Whereas buying it outright right away would allow it be a BYOD with no upgrade fee.
My bad, you are right. I forgot that that has been added to carrier financing now. But the OP could have gone to Apple as mentioned above.
Yeah right, far far from it.
Horrible customer service.
They're only competent when it comes to jacking up prices and making up new fees.![]()
I will just go to Apple Store and pay full price. Thanks for all the replies.

6 lines all out of contract.
I also paid upgrade fee on 2 phones I bought outrightStill a $30 fee even if you buy it outright…trust me I've bought several outright
