If the person you spoke with is correct, then the AT&T offer is better. You keep it until you change to a different plan/data amount.
Also, am I reading correctly that BYOD doesn't get the $25/line/month discount? Only Edge? My plan with AT&T right now gives the $25/line/month discount as long as it's not a subsidized contract.
Don't think I'll switch since coverage is about equal for me.
Talked to two people, both said this. The ATT plan may be the same thing. In Verizon's case, you have to select a plan when you upgrade, this promotional plan may not be available to select. I am assuming the upgrade process is the same with ATT, but please correct me if I am wrong.

Has there ever been a plan where the carrier essentially forced all users out of? They typically come up with convincing marketing or coerce users to leave by making things extremely difficult (throttling etc.) - but have they ever forced everyone off a plan unilaterally?
Is this true? I've have 2 lines that are eligible for upgrade on a UDP. I didn't want to pay full retail. Just wondering if they've changed the policy recently...

I'm so happy for this promo. I got excited and tried to change my plan today. Can't change it till tomorrow. I'm going to downgrade my 20gb line to a 15gb line (30gb line under promo) and save money and gain 10gb of data. Plus I get a nice 21% discount. I shouldn't be this happy about a phone plan. lol.
Oh, the rep stated that once you are on the one of these plans, and after October 31st, you stay on the promo plan until you change your plan.
