Im surprised they just didnt tell him the difference is you can actually make phone calls that dont drop on the droid.

No not because of that, its because everytime I walk in the store they try so hard to sell me something, even though I dont need anything, they'll try to sell me at least a case or try to tell me I can upgrade my phone now, I know that it's their jobs to do that, but if a customer doesn't need anything they should leave them alone, some people just come to walk around and check out the phones, they don't need an employee coming every minute bugging them about buying something.

Maybe they swarm to you because they think you're gullible and will buy anything. *shrug*

Bottom line is that all these companies talk smack about their competitor's products. How is this new?

Um... no?

The camera is a 5mp camera and the App store has like 3-4 times the number of apps in the android marketplace.
Photography buffs know that more megapixels do not equal better photos. Just like more apps do not equal an advantage.

There's room for competition and all platforms. Android is one of the best things to happen to Apple, it's waking them up, and keeping them sharp.

Don't look back, someone is gaining ground...

I understand what you mean, I guess it's just annoying to me.

We live in a world were people are only honest if someone's watching. They'll attempt to steal from you any chance they get. Corporations, not being human, find this even easier to do than an individual would..

Seriously, we were in a Fry's electronics store when my roommate heard the salesguy trying to convince a lady she needed to buy a new hard drive cause her computer wasn't playing Youtube. And I think she was buying it

Apparently you've never worked retail before. Welcome to the real world.

You honestly think an AT&T store somewhere didn't have meetings at some point on how to sell against EVDO when they were still on 2G?

Having a retail background I can tell you that this goes on all over the place.

Really don't care about employees as I don't have much history of dealing with them. I buy phone and set up autopay.

I focus on the coverage.

Also give AT&T some time.......I'm sure you will learn to love them as much as Verizon ;)

I have had Verizon and Sprint. I have been with AT&T since 2004 and haven't had a issue yet that wasn't solved with a short call and even those are few and far between. Sprint and verizon were a different story. I haven't had any issues with call quality or calls dropping or anything like that even when I traveled or when family on my account traveled. I also have had more coverage than my friends on sprint and verizon (at least where we go).

Welcome to 2010... everyone does it.
Yeah, doesn't mean it doesn't suck.

Were you trained to blatantly lie, though? Pointing out actual faults of competitor's phones is obviously going to take place, but to flat out lie is another story.

well he says they have weekly meetings and talk about what to tell customers why the droid is better than the iphone..

Sounds like USC vs. UCLA. Those who've been to both campuses tell me that USC people talk about UCLA all the time (on campus) whereas UCLA people couldn't care less about USC.

Luckily, I always had honest managers. But I've seen many more dishonest people in retail than I care to recall.

I'm just saying, training a team on how to sell against a competitor's product is normal. And unfortunately, lying and/or ignorance is normal as well. I'm sure the 2 come together way more often than I we would like.
