Has everyone watched the keynote yet? Is everyone ready for iPhone 14 Preorder Day!!! What iPhone variant and color is everyone ordering? I’m preordering the 512GB 12 Pro Max in Purple.

The iPhone 14 has been made official. Pre-orders begin this Friday, September 9th at 5am PST/8am EST. The phone will be available next Friday, September 16th.


This will be my second time pre-ordering through Verizon. Last year was a smooth experience, so I figured I would do it again. I am wondering how Verizon will handle the iPhone this year with their switch to 36 month contracts. The previous 24 month contracts allowed customers to upgrade after 12 months were paid off. How will 36 month contracts upset that balance?
 
Here is the fine print from Apple's website.

Verizon Special Deal: Monthly price reflects net monthly payment, after application of Verizon trade-in credit applied over 36 months with purchase of an iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Plus with credit of $800 or $400 for customers on a Do, Play, Get or One Unlimited plan (based upon the model and condition of your trade-in smartphone); or $400 or $200 for customers on a Start Unlimited plan (based upon the model and condition of your trade-in smartphone). Credit comprised of (i) Apple instant trade‑in credit at checkout and (ii) Verizon monthly bill credits applied over 36 months. Customer must remain in the Verizon Device Payment Program for 36 months to receive the full benefit of the Verizon bill credits. Bill credits may take 1‑2 bill cycles to appear. If it takes two cycles for bill credits to appear, you'll see the credit for the first cycle on your second bill in addition to that month's credit. Requires purchase and activation of a new iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, or iPhone 14 Pro Max with the Verizon Device Payment Program at 0% APR for 36 months, subject to carrier credit qualification, and iPhone availability and limits. Same for 36 months. I leased my iPhone 13 Pro Max on 36 months. It says I have to pay $140 to reach 50% & upgrade early.

Anyone know if I can join Apple’s Upgrade Program if I’m still in the middle of an installment plan with Verizon?

I’ll be doing the same thing. I’m going to pay device payments on my S8 Ultra (whenever Verizon open preordering) and pay outright for the 14 Pro Max. I even saved an extra $100 in case they increased the prices.
 
I am on AT&T but would like to switch to Verizon (same carrier as wife). Should there be any issue in doing that switch through ordering via apple.com on pre-order day? Anyone have experience in doing something similar? Would there still be a switch rebates from Verizon doing it that way?

I believe you'll just have to pay up to reach the halfway mark when you order (along with tax, if applicable).
 
How do upgrades work with Verizon these days? Do you get a discount or credit on the new phone?

Do we expect they'll announce some kind of trade-in or other promotion like ATT and T-Mobile did?
