True, but its not really Apples fault.
Sprint is the only carrier that will not fully unlock its iPhone's. They only do it for international use. Unlike Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile.

Verizon was forced to do it though :)

I was more interested if anyone knew if the Verizon iPhone 5S will work on t-mobile or AT&T LTE networks (as well as their HSPA+ networks) since according to http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ it should assuming that the simcard slot is unlocked from verizon.
If you look at the specs, the answer would seem to be yes.

Wonder why Apple does not make a phone that will run on any/most CDMA networks like GSM...
That is probably the carrier's fault.
Unlike with GSM, where there's a standard and it's relatively easy to build a world phone, CDMA carriers are proprietary. Also, they won't accept a phone that's not in their registry--even if your phone has the correct antenna.
You couldn't pay me to use CDMA.
