Hey guys,

About to make the switch over to an iPhone again. And I wanted to see if it was better to just bite the bullet and pay for the iPhone full price versus financing.

Also, is the Verizon variant of the iPhone the same as the Apple sim unlocked one?

I'm trying to purchase from Verizon or apple because I know the AT&T/t-mobile version are lower quality (antennas and Intel version)

Yeah, the Verizon iPhone 7 is the same as the sim free iPhone 7.

I really don't think there's a noticeable difference, but if you'd prefer the Verizon version it'll work just fine.

What? They are not lower quality. That was the "in" thing for a few days with the Intel modem. It has died out. The only phones that are having issues are the Verizon ones.

And what antenna thing are you talking about?

Verizon iPhone 7 is a CDMA/GSM/sim-unlocked version. AT&T iPhone 7 is GSM only.

LOL. That is old news. It was on here a few weeks ago and died off. There has been no wide spread problems reported. That is just the site trying to get clicks with old news.

I didn't think either of them were actually having issues. What's the problem with the Verizon ones?

Oh, that. My 7+, my wife's 7+, my moms 7, my dads 7 and my sisters 7 don't seem to be affected by the issue.

Maybe it's isolated to certain regions or there's just a manufacturing defect in a batch of phones?
Perhaps. Just ironic that those phones have the "good" modem and are having the most issues.

I guess that's assuming it's just the phones and not something related to the network they are on or some combination of the two.

That isn't how you take an accurate sample.
No kidding. Just based on what we have as evidence, I am fairly certain it would be on these threads. Why would it not be? All other problems are here. The only phone experiencing significant issues currently is the Verizon model. It was just an observation.

People complaining about a problem on macrumors is proof that people like to complain on macrumors. You can't really use that data to prove something like this.

You are right. No problems with Verizon phones. Enjoy you Verizon phone.

Have a good day.

Apple owners are the most anal. Apple owners who complain about an Apple product on a forum such as this, are the most anal of the anal. That's just the way it is.

I'm not saying there aren't problems. I'm saying that people complaining about something on here doesn't indicate that there is actually widespread problem or even a problem at all.

I'm glad your iPhone 7/7+ works. I'm glad mine works too. I'd be willing to bet the vast majority the iPhone users worldwide have received iPhones that work the way they're supposed to work and are built the way they're supposed to be built. The ones complaining about issues and defects are a fraction of a percentage of the user base.

Right...because this a forum where other members discuss issues, seek feedback, and remedy problems they don't have the answers to, in hopes others do.

I visited other forum sites, tech related or not, generally they are all the same. Macrumors isn't an exception for "Anal retentive" members.
