That's silly. Apple is about beating the competition in the markets they choose to go after.
Steve cannot be happy about the market share Android is getting, nor the potential sales Apple is losing.

Again lol you people think its so hard to make a CDMA version of a phone first off Apple can make a CDMA/3G phone if they chose besides when Verizon Rolls out LTE in 2011 it wont be a huge area it will slowley roll out in area's like how 4G is with sprint it probally would make sense to do a LTE capable iPhone in 2012 when LTE has a Bigger Coverage area

True, but why would people want to carry two devices in their pocket. The average person does not. What you are failing to miss is the bigger picture. Why should Steve care? Because if other platforms are allowed to grow and become more established, it will be much more difficult and expensive to counter that later. Think of it like your lawn. If you pick those few weeds while they are small and vulnerable, it is much easier and quicker. Turn your back on them and they will take over your yard.

As for my reasons for caring...see previous post. I don't want to see the Apple playground overrun with the other weeds out there. Also, as someone with a stock interest in Apple, you want to see more sales to more people and more availability of product.
So no. Apple is not the only entity that should care.
My answer is coverage. They just happen to be better where I live. That's all. Most of us aren't fanboys, we just picked what works better in our area.

Apple didnt just announce the contract with AT&T. The contract is the original contract signed before the original iPhone in 2007. This was not announced by Apple as you say, rather it was outed by court documents Apple filed in a lawsuit they are facing. Also its widely known that this contract was most likely renegotiated, most people thinking when the 3G came out and the iPhone went from being unsubsidized to subsidized. Also check your facts because LTE is not the same as GSM and will require different equipment. Its not a simple upgrade as you seem to think. Not to mention the fact that LTE is data only and Verizon's CDMA network will be in use for years to come for voice and data fallback.
I don't get why people care so much about this issue. Who gives a crap. Oh wait, it's all the people who CAN'T get the iPhone because of the carrier they are on.

It is all their fault!! We must stop them from wanting the iPhone because it being on multiple carriers somehow ruins the lives of AT&T lovers.

Nope we are all wrong on this the iPhone will not come to Verizon this year as a matter of fact its going to be down the road.
This came from a very reliable source at SAMS club this evening, when I asked about the Droid and functionality , I was told that the iPhone was a POS and that Apple does not know what there doing. Verizon's network is the BEST and that the droid is the only device I would need.
Now I did surf the net on his droid while in the club with max bars and it was slowwwwwwwww, surfed with the iPhone to this site and not a problem.
Smiled and walked away, but I did manage to record his conversation on my IPHONE......................

Its all about location. Just west of Baltimore AT&T is perfect. I'm so ticked at Verizon due to their pricing that I may switch to Comcast (UGH) for internet. They just jumped my FIOS internet cost by $30.00 per month ($39.99 to $69.99) and no increase in speed/service. Got the bill yesterday, they will get my call today.
My friend has a 5 phone family plan from Verizon, NO data but unlimited texting. Cost is over $400.00 per month
not including her Verizon FIOS (phone, internet and TV) costs. I don't like government controlling my life but something needs to be done with the rediculous prices being charged by these companies, especially AT&T and Verizon.

Verizon's family plan is supposed to be $69.99/month for the first two lines and $9.99/month for each additional line. I have three people on mine and that's what I pay.

Sorry to hear that about the rate hike. Did they give a reason? My neighborhood is on the water at the bottom of a hill. All the towers are on the other side of the hill. If gsm was stronger, I could get it from across the water. I suspect that's how I get the cdma signal, it travels further. I have fios for internet only, still 42 a month. I get a work discount for cell (ATT, Verizon or Sprint) so I only pay 5o for 2 lines no data. I had great speed with comcast but they wanted 20 a month more for internet without tv. Been happ with fios once I got rid of that actiontec router piece of crap.

Can we hear the rest of the story regarding this? I don't buy it - no offense to you. $70 for a family plan plus $10 for each line. $150 MAX plus whatever the texting package is if V does it that way. Even with another $30 in txt packages fess, they are only at $180.
So this $400 dollar bill is not right. Sounds more like someone forgot to pay it.
