I found the numbers in the Wiki entry for each provider. But I didn't do a very good job of copying them. Upon rereading the Wiki, AT&T actually has MORE subscribers than Verizon.
Imagine that!

1. people WILL NOT cancel their att contract to switch to Verizon yet, like my wife
2. People are waiting to see what happens in June
I would love to see those numbers again "IF" Verizon would have went on stage and said "Here is the iphone 4 now available on Verizon, you will not see an updated one for verizon till at least 2012 and we will buy out your ATT contract" I bet if that happened the numbers would have blown past their expectations![]()
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148a Safari/6533.18.5)
The expectations already had all of this built into the numbers (contract expiration dates, iPhone 5, etc). None of this was unknown when expectations were set.
Maybe analysts were overly optimistic, but bottom line is the launch missed...
Yes, because doubling sales is a failure. That's pretty much what I would expect with an 8-month old phone that will be getting a refresh in a few months.
