Several questions have arisen. Will the future release of an iPhone (5) be compatible with any network a user joins (Verizon, AT&T ,etc)? Also, will the new iPhone release be 4G ready or compatible when 4G expands? We know that the Verizon iPhone 4 is not 4G and existing iPhones in the AT&T network cannot port over to the Verizon Network. This is confusing and there is lots of money at stake here from a user perspective.![]()
It may be confusing, but U.S. consumers should be used to it. First, almost all U.S. phones are sold locked, so they can't even be switched for use on a technically compatible network. Second, you've never been able to take any sprint/verizon phone and use it on at&t/t-mobile (with the exception of a couple "world" phones with both chipsets).
