There's a lot of Americans getting really defensive over this - all we're saying is we're astonished how much you have to pay for your iPhones, that's all - we're not criticising your country. Chill

In the US do you also still have to pay for incoming calls?

For me, everyone I know is on verizon so if you call cell to cell, no minutes are used, in or out. No idea on outside calls.

SO much money for such few minutes in the USA?

I pay 15Euros each month, a little more than 20 USA dollars and I got 1800 minutes, of voice call, and video call, and even those 15 euros are kept in your account for making international calls, or for a flat internet subscrition, you just have to recharge each month 15 euros to have those 1800 free minutes, I am in Portugal, Europe and thankfully we have Optimus company that make things this way, it seems comercial competition is not working at all in the USA!

I use 20 minutes (out of network, verizon to verizon are not counted) a month, I wish for a smaller plan.

Too bad they don't offer any goodies to pay for the cancelation fee. When I switched from directTV to Verizon FIOS TV they gave me (after 3 month) a credit card that basically payed for my cancelation fee - that deal sweetened the switch. But I guess they expect the unhappy AT&T users to switch once their contract is up and that way don't have the (too) high volume of switchers right on the first day.

Rip off

As a longtime verizon customer I had hoped verizon could do better. This isn't competitive pricing at all.

Verizon is not that expensive

I don't understand why everyone is giving verizon such a bad rep. Seriously unlimited means unlimited, I've used more than 5gb on my phone a couple of time without any hastle. And did you actually think they were gonna give the hotspot feature for free? Seriously?! If I wanted it on my android I would have to pay, I mean how many times are you really with your laptop without internet. In fact my smartphone has basically replaced my laptop. Also I mean its looks as if verizon is expensive, but in all honesty their family plans are reasonable. Finally I don't care if I can surf the web while talking on my phone. I mean for me I find myself using the phone as a phone less and less. And when I'm talking on it never had i said man this person is really boring I wish i could surf the web, really the phone call will last 2 minutes if you can't wait that long put the phone down and take a step back from technology. Thats my 2 sense...

Just a thought, but say you had a verizon iPhone. You wouldn't be able to use it in Europe at all (I don't think we use CDMA, certainly none in the UK).

How would you roam? Would you have to buy another GSM phone just to go abroad..?
