On a coincidentally humours note, when I got my regular mail today (in-between hitting refresh on here and on my tracking page, haha) I got a letter from AT&T telling me that if I signed up now, I'd get 2 free Android phones.

Oh, the irony...

Thing is, they probably don't have any record of him accidently getting two phones, or they would never have put it in his box in the first place.

That being said, they may eventually notice there is a phone "missing" from the warehouse and blacklist the ESN.

*shrugs* I dunno what I would do if I was you. Probably just give them a call, I guess... but I tend to err on the side of caution.

Not to mention that eventually, these come back and hit the consumers with increase in fees/charges whenever they lose or get their inventory stolen...
so it's a tough call. If you can't use the phone anyway, why not just return it?

And verizon can't charge me for a phone I did not buy, if they think so, they can suck it.

it may have been their error, but they will charge you if you dont tell them. then, selling it would be tranfer of stolen goods.

3:03pm. there is no longer an expected arrival date on my tracking number - don't know how long it's been off. getting upset honestly, everyone else has theirs..

If I were you, I'd activate the 16GB and keep the 32 new. This way you can sell both and get the iPhone5 should it come out in a few months. I doubt you'd use up 16gb til then anyway unless you do some serious app loading.

DO NOT try to sell one, I did this for a buddy of mine who went into the Verizon store and bought a Droid X. A couple of days later another one shows up via FedEx. So, he has me sell it on ebay for him. When the buyer tried to activate it, my buddy was charged FULL PRICE for the extra phone. My advice is to take it to a Verizon store and tell them what's up. Ignore my other reply, as I was kidding. (shoulda put a ;) in it)

that's why

but since you guys are scaring me so much with what if's i will give verizon some time...if they don't act...

Problem is, each phone has a serial number. IF they can't activate it, it could come back to haunt you. I'm just saying, be careful. You don't want to get charged for stolen property. I'd do some research to make sure you will be able to sell it without any problems. Doesn't hurt to be careful. :)

I'm pretty much in agreement with you as you can tell by my other posts. I'd say ignore my initial post too. ;)

Activate the one that they think they sent you

I would activate the one they think they sent you according to the paperwork that was in with your order. I know in the past if you didn't activate the phone they sent you on the phone number it was ordered for within so long a time period they would then bill your account for the full retail price. I wouldn't risk it. Make sure of what your paperwork says first and then use that one. I would hold on to the other one for a few weeks (or a month or two) and then if nothing happens you could then activate it and use it or you could sell it on ebay for big bucks! :apple:

Well after reading the latest post maybe you do need to call the customer service number and just talk to someone about it.

in other news: the text on the screen blows my bold away. I'm really glad i never really played with an iphone before because i sure would have been on ATT just for this screen

Mine is gone too And it was set for today...

Don't worry, guys... same thing happened to me, yet my status just updated to "out for delivery" 15 minutes ago.

I honestly think it's just their system being a little wonky today.

FEDEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH FINALLY

ahahahahahah yessssssssss.

good luck to the rest of you :) time to play

The worst part about my buddy's deal is that it sold for less than full price and he lost about $80 on the deal. (we sold it with the accessories that also came in the box, the same accessories he bought in the store!!)

Did anyone else notice that the FedEx guy had a ridiculously long handwritten list? The guy that delivered my two phones had a piece of paper with a ton of tracking numbers hand written that he was furiously making notes on. Willing to bet certain drivers are dedicated to delivery ONLY iPhones today.
