lol this sucks, I didn't even ask for two and now i'm stealing one!

in other news: the text on the screen blows my bold away. I'm really glad i never really played with an iphone before because i sure would have been on ATT just for this screen

The Retina Display - gotta love it. It's more pixels than the human eye can differentiate (supposedly anyway). If true, there is no reason to improve the screen in terms of pixel resolution. It is a thing of beauty. Best screen on the market right now and no one comes close. 4x more pixels and 4x more contrast ratio than iPhone 3G, which in itself had a fantastic screen.

The worst part about my buddy's deal is that it sold for less than full price and he lost about $80 on the deal. (we sold it with the accessories that also came in the box, the same accessories he bought in the store!!)

Exactly why NEVER sell anything with a serial number if you didn't purchase it legitimately. lol

My bet is you're using wifi network. Get off and use Verizon's 3G. Should work fine now.

Thanks you saved me a call to tech support!!

I was order 3000ish and received my phone earlier today vi FedEx (which BTW, their system was down so it never said it was out for delivery) yet my husband was order 700ish and they sent his out UPS and it still isn't here...he's a little pissed to say the least :p

Mine too! What the heck? I thought it was on its way here all day. And I've been home. If it doesn't get here today, I'm gonna flip.

I just called, it means that Verizon has UPS 'observing' the packages -- meaning scanning them in after a certain number of hours idle before delivery to ensure that it wasn't stolen, delivered to the wrong place, etc.

So when it changes to In Transit -- it means that it was just observed. It will get here before 7PM at the latest.

You know, I wonder if Apple/Verizon is shipping extra phones out intentionally because they know a lot of the ppl won't return them and they can then charge them for the phone? It's A TRAP!! (Ingenious too!)

Okay, be honest. How many of you today have created your own FedEx/UPS song while waiting? Hmmm? C'mon now.

Phew! My status was just updated to "in transit" from "out for delivery" and I was getting worried. Thanks for the update!

This is why i hate verizon customer service...
I call one guy and he didn't even believe me at first. after much convincing he said as long as i didn't order two they cannot and will not charge me for the second phone. He was unsure about activation.

Not believeing it was that easy, i called back and the second guy told me to ship it back asap and there MIGHT (he said he doubt it but it has happened before) be a credit. He told me they could charge me full retail for it.

Mine just changed from "Out For Delivery" to "In Transit" WHAT GIVES WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN

Mine did this too, and then a few hours later, it was delivered. In my case I think it was because UPS's tracking system stated a predicted 10:30 AM delivery even though it was going to a residence. Because it's not an office, UPS typically delivers in the afternoon, not at 10:30. Exactly 1 hour after 10:30, the system switched to "in transit" from "out for delivery" which is probably how the system handles a package that isn't delivered by what it believes to be the right deadline.

UPS always comes to my building around 3, and sure enough, at 3:24, "in transit" turned into "delivered."

guys this may sound like a really really really dumb question but...

Or....just keep it as a Ipod touch lol.

But seriously, yeah, I probably wouldn't trust the 1st guy. Well, neither the 2nd guy. You'll have to do some more research.

EASY ANSWER:
do the right thing :)

You'll sleep better and be better able to focus on YOUR iPhone.
Would be nice if they'd upgrade you for being honest though!

Trust me when I say, there is no "could" they WILL charge you for that phone when/if it's activated by you. There won't be a credit unless you were charged for it.

Sweet Jesus, it's here. Got here right on the 3:00 mark as promised. I had all I could do to not jump the FedEx man. I said something stupid about the weather, my voice quivering.

So... can anybody point me to a "New To iPhone" article, much like when I converted from PC to Mac? I want to learn all the tricks of the trade and I'm coming off of a core Blackberry era in my life.

I had 4 hours of sleep last night but this is gonna keep me rollling... :D

I agree. Just be honest. Honest people are so rare these days. You can't get hurt by being honest, but can potentially get hurt bad by doing the opposite. It's just a phone...

There's a thought, maybe send back the 16GB and keep the 32GB, if they try to charge you an extra $100 for it, so be it. I think it's worth it in the long run anyway. BTW, I bought the 32GB model, and I'm patiently waiting for it to show up. I'm sure the driver's overloaded with deliveries today, but daaaammmmnnn!

i'm not gonna lie, it's gonna kill me but i'm thinking thats what i might do because having my next bill $700 over wouldn't fly well

*sigh*

I DOUBT they'll give you the 32GB, but ask them if you could keep that one and return the 16GB anyway. Couldn't hurt! Maybe they'll say okay! :)

Both my wife and I see receiving phones today. Should I set them both up under my itunes account? Or make her own. If we use the same account do we only have to pay for the same app once if we want it on both phones? What are the other perks/qualms?

Your computer will probably only recognize one iPhone per your iTunes account-so you might not be able to use it for both phones.

This all has got me wondering about the sudden upgrade from 1lb to 2lbs, I wonder if all the people who ordered 1 phone that was originally 1lb are getting two now? Things that make you go hmmmmm...

fun story, ive been patiently waiting since 9 in the morning for my iphone, refreshing the fedex page religiously, at about 3 pm (when it was scheduled to be delivered by) the fedex page changes to "delivery exception" im like wtf... so i call fedex and this rude lady is telling me how there was something wrong and they would try again tomorrow... i was like no way. so i called back and talked to a much nicer person who then called the local fedex center and had the manager call the driver and make sure they deliver it today, idk what happened but idk if i can wait any longer :/

From what I've read you can install it so that you only have to pay once. Have her set up her own account though. It's not a straightforward way, so you have to be careful when installing the app on her phone. There are instructions that can be found in the web.
