Other than assuming from the cycle of Apple, name ONE link where it is CONFIRMED that the iphone 5 will be out in a few months.

Besides, iphones have a high re-sale value where they can unlock it and sell it, and get a pretty good price. Price may pay for iphone 5 or come close to it.

This is the one thing that concerns me and I truly hope it doesn't happen but if it does then it looks like i'll have to wait longer. :(
 
i ordered mine at 11:45 PST last night and got a confirmation email about 20 minutes later with this info:

Order Reference Number: 9376003314XXXXXX

Since I'm in So Cal, I'm assuming it's being shipped from Ontario, CA if it's through FedEx. I still haven't received an email confirming shipment or tracking info, however I did call *611 and stated that order was processed and shipped out. I checked my bank account today and there was a pending debit from VZ...that's a good sign! haha

I too, like the rest of you, am going crazy over this. I keep checking the VZW order status page, but it says page not available. :confused: Whatever..
 
Absolutely NOT. iPhones are ONLY activated through iTunes. Period. You plug it in, connect it, click a button and you're all done.

None of that verizon activation BS.

Yes I have done it I have a review handset. And also verizon states it in the FAQ that you will need to download iTunes to use your phone…

iTunes is the ONLY way to activate your phone…

Actually you are incorrect. Going forward apple will release verizon and AT&T versions of their iPhones at exactly the same time.

There won't be delays or preferences for networks or chipsets. Straight from my roommate on the apple iphone dev team.

iPhone 5 is still 8 months out.

Anybody from Chicago or area that has tracking info from FedEx that actually shows info?

I have been waiting for FedEx to update their system all night and nothing has come up. Figured it would show something right now.

It would be nice to give my building manager a heads up in the morning, since overnight is usually delivered early.
 
You don't have to wait until july. Login online and click upgrade your phone. Even me who wasn't available for upgrade until september, clicked upgrade and was able to do it by opting in to another 2 years of contract, over 8 months early and I've only had verizon for about a year.

The iphone 5 is not coming in July, it's much farther out. Apple will be focusing on the release of it's OS during the summer, not mobile products.

There won't be a new iphone until the end of the year.

A new iPad will be coming shortly though…

You right, the goal with the next phone is it will be a dual chipset, with both gsm and cdma, which means one phone for all. I assume it will come out for both carriers on the same day.

I don't expect 4g till next year, which makes sense since Apple went with 2g on ATT in the beginning even though 3g was gaining strength. Apple doesn't want to use something that is not completely relevent until they can advertise 4g as a huge deal, which I agree with (cause if Apple said they have a 4g phone, and no one could get 4g most of the time, they would blame Apple, not the carrier).

nothing for me. my CC hasn't even been charged yet.
 
Ordered mine via Apple (Verizon site refused to load) at 2:55am Central.

My dock is the only thing showing shipped with a tracking number.

I have no ACE number, no location number, any of that.

I assume I'll have mine on the 10th. :-(
(I also have no text or voice plan according to my order...go figure)

Seems like it's mostly the west coast and midwest getting their shipment/tracking info. From NJ here, still waiting on the tracking e-mail. I think it's time to go to bed though, hopefully there will be a promising e-mail in my inbox when I wake up. Good luck to everyone else!

Bummer.

My order was 438. I received the shipment email and tracking number but fedex hasnt shown any tracking info. My cc card was charged and I can see it right now, even though it hasnt officially posted.
