Cue the "Why would any want a Verizon iPhone? You can't get simultaneous voice + data and the data's slower!" and the "Why would you want simultaneous voice + data anyways? At least I get coverage in my area!" posts.

Amazing how people think that everyone else is just like them in both their needs & environment. Seems like these people can't imagine that there may be people with, dare I say it? Different needs? I know, blasphemy!

I'll start.

Hey, in that picture, the AT&T phone has one more bar than the magical, awesome VZW phone where you won't drop a single call, even on Mars :D

"Package deliveries are proceeding as normal; however, tracking updates are temporarily being delayed. Please try back later. Thank you."

Keep getting this message at the top of the FedEx tracking page. I hope they're right and the phone comes today. Anyone else see this message?

And Apple customers take down FedEx tracking again....

Delivered!

I received mine at 10:42 this morning from Fed Ex. I had called Fed Ex this morning because it still showed it at facility(local) but it hadn't showed loaded on truck or upgraded since friday when I first checked, so figured I would call them and tell them that i would be over to pick it up. She took my tracking number and information and said it would be held until I picked it up. They said I could get it anytime between 9am and 8pm. Just as I am getting ready to go here he comes and delivers it. Glad I didn't leave any earlier or I would have missed him, seeing as how you have to sign for it.Good Luck to all and hope you get yours today also.

Can't believe I actually bothered to read these posts about a phone being delivered that's the same (as near as makes no difference) as a phone already available. Surely now we've been told about the existence and launch of the Verizon iPhone we don't need to keep being told about it on the front page do we? It's great lots more people can now use the iPhone but can we move on and start obsessing about something else please... like the release of the fabled Unicorn iPhone or whether Steve Jobs sleeps in pyjamas or goes commando?

Actually not that last one. We don't need to think about or discuss that at all.

fyi guys, I just activated my new iPhone, called my wife, held the phone in my left hand to my ear as I normally do with the Incredible, signal dropped down to 1 bar and dropped call, I "may" get a bumper or simply return it and wait to see if they fix this in June.... So disappointed in Apple

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E128 Safari/6533.18.5)

Just got mine and loving it!

LTE=iPhone 2012

iPhone 5 June 6th. Same antenna as Verizon but different innards. Will have NFC.

Apple avoids recall of at&t phone by "discovering by chance" a better GSM antenna as well.

Not clear on Verizon 5 yet. Depends if the 5 is truly Dual Band or not. Good chance it will be a "World Phone".

Definitely no LTE till 2012. It simply is not ready for prime time yet.:apple:

I think most of what you say sounds about right, except the part about the antenna. Nobody recalls a product that does not pose a safety or health hazard. The word "recall" is a bit overused these days.

By and large, Antennagate was nothing more than a press fantasy to create a story where the was not much of a story. I'm sure that because of it, there will be some minor improvements in antenna design, but iPhone 4 still has highest customer satisfaction rating and lowest return rate of any iPhone, and it has sold more units -- that's kinda hard to ignore.

I think the biggest antenna improvement that Apple has made is in the U.S. is creating an iPhone with a CDMA antenna. Folks are pretty unanimous saying the voice quality on Verizon is audibly better.

Failed attempt at humor I suppose?

Why lock into an iPhone 4 now?

Why lock into an iPhone 4 now under a 2 year contract? iPhone 5 will be out in 4 months. Maybe the new model will have GSM and CDMA....or better yet, LTE. That way it can be global and have a high resale value.

I think most of the excitement is from Verizon customers. This is probably their first iPhone, and they're just excited to join the club.

I shot a quick video, Holding the phone in my left hand as I would as if it's against my ear, you can see the bars drop to 1, I let go towards the end of the video and they shoot back up. This time the call didn't drop but my previous test the call failed

I know that Apple's posted iOS 4.2.6 for the CDMA iPhone, but do the iPhones customers are receiving today come shipped with 4.2.6 or the original 4.2.5 that was on the demo phones at the Verizon event?
