i have never, ever, seen so many dumb questions in a MR forum! does the very thought of a verizon iPhone make people dense?

Not just that, but the same people asking the same questions over and over again... I mean, really?

Get a grip...

if all of us here who want a Verizon iPhone stay up until 3am (or whatever your respective time is) and can't get one on launch day due to a crash on Verizon's part, im going to be hella pissed, especially after Verizon's COO said "We are not going to have any flaws on the execution of the iPhone launch". I'll only believe it when I see it...on my Verizon iPhone :)

So, I want to buy a verizon iPhone. I live in the central time zone. Do I wake up at 2am instead of 3?

I think so,

Yeah, I agree with you! I think it's going to crash.

So they are going to give me $280 for a phone I paid $225 for? Wow.

Your iPhone is not worth 199 or 299, its approximately 599 and 699. That's why ETF's are so high.

Verizon=Amazing

I don't understand why everyone is giving verizon such a bad rep. Seriously unlimited means unlimited, I've used more than 5gb on my phone a couple of time without any hastle. And did you actually think they were gonna give the hotspot feature for free? Seriously?! If I wanted it on my android I would have to pay, I mean how many times are you really with your laptop without internet. In fact my smartphone has basically replaced my laptop. Also I mean its looks as if verizon is expensive, but in all honesty their family plans are reasonable. Finally I don't care if I can surf the web while talking on my phone. I mean for me I find myself using the phone as a phone less and less. And when I'm talking on it never had i said man this person is really boring I wish i could surf the web, really the phone call will last 2 minutes if you can't wait that long put the phone down and take a step back from technology. Thats my 2 sense...

So is this going to just be in myverizon account under devices with the rest of the phones? Will a link appear at 3am that says click here to preorder? I've never done a preorder since being on verizon so I don't know how or where the preorder link will be...but I plan on being logged in long before 3am and waiting just in case.

my concern isn't the performance of the iphone on verizon at all. i have stuck with verizon this long simply because of that, and i have no doubts that the network will hold up beyond expectations

my concern is with the launch itself, mainly the preorder itself. we have seen on everyone iphone launch in the past that there has been some serious tech difficulties. maybe this is at&t's fault, or it may just be that in general the demand online was too big for both at&t and apple to handle. i am hoping that verizon has learned something from this and has put in place an infrastructure that will hold up. i think this is the least they can do for loyal verizon customers who have waited so long for an iphone, or else people are going to be angry when they get screwed out of a launch date iphone because of verizon's lack of preparation. esepcially after the COO's quote, they are looking at big trouble if they don't meet demand and expectation.

iPhone 2G - 16GB: $60
iPhone 3G - 16GB: $105
iPhone 3Gs 32GB: $160
iPhone 4- 16GB: $280
iPhone 4 - 32GB: $360

The "3Gs"? Isn't that the plural of 3G?

Do they have trouble typing "3GS - 16GB" and "3GS - 32GB"? Did they really forget last year?

Probably not, although that would be nice.

......In other words, my guess is we'd get them on the 10th.

This is partly so people won't be selling them ahead of time on eBay etc. The first ones will be sold out for weeks, and the ones people do get will command a premium at first.

Though you might be right I would hope that V would want to get the phones out and activated to iron out any bumps prior to the possible glut of customers/activations/questions that will begin on the 10'th.

Well, at 3am, what happens if there are problems? Is customer service going to be open if everyone has to call? If not, then they just expect everyone to simmer mad til customer service opens in the morning? Plus, are they keeping network guys staffed at 3am for when the site crashes within two minutes?

lol! Half way through this thread, it became hard to distinguish between sarcasm and stupidity - because it's hard to believe anyone can be that dumb!

Verizon is doing everything it can to usurp ATT customers/convert existing to iPhones. And there are two big reasons - both obvious.

1. Just to convert them asap to Verizon and start receiving billing revenue

2. Because locking all of the "early adopters" in now before a new iPhone is announced in a few months will generate more income from people who HAVE to have the latest and are no longer eligible to upgrade.

Now #2 is interesting because we don't know if this summer will see a new Verizon phone - but I imagine it will. But if Verizon KNOWS there's no new phone coming this summer - they, again, want to make sure they lock people up nice and tight NOW.

Well...for us ATTers out here (and my contract expires in August):

1)I would have to pay ATT for cancelling (so for me that's 6+ months times whatever dollar amount per month)...probably $200+ for me.

2)My 3GS 16GB ain't on the list but even if it's $100 it's still way undervalued...it probably wouldn't even cover my costs of cancelling ATT. And my iPhone is in PRISTINE condition.

3)iPhone 5 will be out in June-ish...why get an iPhone 4 in Feb when I can get a 5 in June?

Nice offer, but no thanks. I'll wait till August and switch (unless ATT really tries hard to keep me with lower rates...luckily I rarely use the ATT network but I know it's horrible in New England)

Did anyone read the release? This is the launch time for CORPORATE accounts. I'm assuming a similar e-mail/press release will be made for personal accounts (most likely with a different launch time)

I'm starting to think that I may just go into a Verizon store and buy one on the 10th instead. I mean, if you preorder on the 3rd and they don't ship until the 10th anyway, what good is it? Sure, you save a trip to the store, but you have to keep hitting refresh at an ungodly hour in the hopes that you're one of the lucky ones that actually gets to place an order.

While I'm sure there will be lines at the stores, at least it's during normal business hours and you'll be able to walk out the door with the phone right away. This is assuming, of course, that they actually begin selling them in the physical stores on the 10th... do we know that for sure, or is it still going to be online-only on the 10th?

i love how agressive verizon is.

the at&t early termination fee for an iphone 4 is around $225 at this point after 7 months (325-70). with the trade-in they are offering people will save $105 or $55 on their brand new verizon iphone 4. not bad at all. well played verizon.

this just means better service and prices for the future of the iphone.
