With Apple and several other vendors quoting shipping estimates for the new AirPods Max of well into 2021, those looking to get their hands on Apple's new $549 over-ear headphones sooner than that might want to check out Verizon.

Verizon is currently listing AirPods Max in silver and space gray as estimated to ship by December 18, although we've heard about some customers receiving order confirmations showing delivery on December 14, a day ahead of the official launch.

Other colors are in shorter supply, with Verizon estimating orders for AirPods Max in green will ship around January 8, while sky blue and pink are simply sold out.

Note that Verizon's timeframes are listed as estimates, so there's no guarantee that the carrier will meet those dates, but if you're looking for a purchase option before the holidays and don't think Apple retail stores will have stock next week, Verizon might be your best bet right now.

Update: Verizon is now out of stock of all colors.

I regret not ordering the blue one :(
The photos in this review would suggest (to me) that it doesn't look as nice in person as it does in Apple's renders:

Only $549 😅. Your monthly health insurance premium.

Considering it.

Unfortunately I still can’t come up with a justification for getting AirPods Max. As much as the design is growing on me I don’t think there’s a killer feature that convinces me that I need these compared to the other high-end headphones I already own.
Don’t...😅

Ordered. If these ship then I'll cancel my order through Apple. Hopefully these are better than my Sony XM3's. If so I'll sell them and my older Sennheiser HD650 that I haven't used since I bought my HD800's.

Why are people buying up these expensive headphones? Wouldn’t it be good to wait for some reviews?
Exclusivity. I’m almost tempted to buy simply because they’re backordered for weeks at Apple.

The entrepreneur in me wants to buy two pairs and sell one, although I’m beginning to hate the idea of reselling items even if it would subsidize the cost of my own pair.

I thought so too but then I got broke shamed in the thread of the release 😅
Let people have things I guess if they have extra money to burn 🤷🏽‍♂️
I guess so. I’m just wondering how do people know these are better than similarly priced headphones from companies that have been in the high-end headphone business for much longer. I know Apple bought Beats, but they’re still new to this market.

Go for it man even though I stopped with the iPhone 11 release
It wasn’t worth the extra hassle to be sincere

They supposedly have established one of the best audio teams in the business, which isn’t unbelievable for a company the size of Apple that has been creating best-in-class audio products.

Maybe if I wanted these more it would be worth the hassle. You are absolutely right though, flipping items can become a major inconvenience.

Considering the price of AirPods Max I’d hope they compare closer to the HD800 than the HD650. Really though they are two entirely different types of headphones.

To satisfy their vanity and want for popularity by posting photos of themselves wearing them on Instagram and also to make extra cash reselling a limited supply item? So basically the product itself could be rubbish and nobody cares. I mean, hopefully it's not, but I would want to get some professional opinions first. I gave away my pair of Audio-Technica to someone who needed them more than me so I am looking for a replacement.

Apple often pushes the envelope when it comes to over pricing things. I think this one takes the cake😄
There lots of headphones that cost more than $550... check these out. But headphones in this range are expected to last forever they usually have replaceable cords and pads. At $550 Apple is borderlining audiophile.
