e^(i*pi) is imaginary. Just because it equals negative one doesn't mean that it isn't still in imaginary form. Maybe you're yet to learn about imaginary numbers?

my math is very rusty so where are you getting the 2?? and -1 is a real number.

Yeah, isn't the total just $0.002?

exp(i*pi) = -1
and sum from 1 to infinity of 1/2^n = 1

so you have .002 -1 + 1 = .002.

Plus, that is what was in the video.
