LMAO. Except Verizon communications is a completely difference company and doesn't deal what-so-ever with data charges, only Verizon Wireless. But other than that it's great. :D:p

Writing cheques in imaginary amounts must really show extreme boredom.

actually that's a mathematical formula, so not imaginary amounts. Therefore you fail.

e^(i*pi) is imaginary. Just because it equals negative one doesn't mean that it isn't still in imaginary form. Maybe you're yet to learn about imaginary numbers?

It's actually a 2... so the equation does exist... you fail...

    e^(i*pi) = cos(pi) + i*sin(pi) = -1 + i*0 = -1

my math is very rusty so where are you getting the 2?? and -1 is a real number.

Do not convert.... just solve as it is... also it's a 2, not an i.

Yeah, isn't the total just $0.002?

    exp(i*pi) = -1
and sum from 1 to infinity of 1/2^n = 1

    so you have .002 -1 + 1 = .002.

Plus, that is what was in the video.

    It's i.

Euler's identity. One of the most, if not THE most mathematically elegant equation. Look it up.

I made a mistake.... well, my eyes made the mistake, but still.... Why would you write a check for $0.002?

There's a long backstory behind the check. You can read about it here:

    http://verizonmath.blogspot.com/

The check was written by Randall Munroe, the writer of XKCD, a webcomic, in response to Verizon's math fail.
