e^(i*pi) is imaginary. Just because it equals negative one doesn't mean that it isn't still in imaginary form. Maybe you're yet to learn about imaginary numbers?

Yeah, isn't the total just $0.002?

exp(i*pi) = -1
and sum from 1 to infinity of 1/2^n = 1

so you have .002 -1 + 1 = .002.

Plus, that is what was in the video.
