From Verizon are you charged the $27 equipment fee because you're doing the monthly thing or is that part of a plan?? Because i don't have that charge(maybe cause ei bought my last iPhone outright). So if I sign up for the Verizon plan, will I have to pay a equipment fee also?????

Like C DM said, if you are financing the phone through Verizon then you have the equipment fee. This is why in my analysis of the cost of Apple's program makes this equipment cost "0", but adds an "Apple" cost.

Does Verizon hard check your credit like apple?

I can't say exactly, but when I talked to Apple support, they told me that the credit checking for Apple's upgrade program is done with the Verizon account. So if you already have a Verizon (or other major carrier I would assume), you can join the program provided your credit is in decent/good standing.

I didn't realize the equipment charge is what the monthly device payment was. I thought it was a whole different charge on top of the device plan charge(meaning I thought it was gonna be $33 for 24 months and then another $20 something on top of that $33 each month).

thanks

I am on the More Everything with 10gb with 4 phones. Two of them are paid for and have been since added. I only pay $15 per line. The ones that say upgrade are iPhones paid in full.

After all of this I'm still 50/50 between the IUP and Verizon monthly.....

Go with Apple. If you decide next year you want to switch service companies, you'd likely have to buy out your phone from Verizon, rather than sending it back to forgive the rest of the loan. With Apple Upgrade, you can be on any carrier at any time. JMHO.

Based on this it looks like I'm going with Verizon....
