Someone answered already here. So basically still possible on existing plans but new customers won't be able to do it anymore.

Im thinking about doing that on my AT&T family plan.
I only have 3 lines and there's room for one more.
But the other 2 lines on my plan dont always care about getting a new device every 20 months so I might be able to use theirs.
