wow that would be amazing if we got them tomorrow, i bet we will have a tracking number tonight. in another forum people that got tracking numbers said it was from UPS so i guess we will see

I included the location code provided in my order confirmation email on VZW's order status page and it simply read "Here is the status of your order" with no other information. Wonder what the deal is...

I am so glad I found this thread, I was particularly freaking out myself for a minute there. Especially since I had difficulty in placing the order at 3 am, leading to an accidental double order. Meaning one order had to be cancelled. So when one order was showing cancelled and the other was giving me an unavailable page error I was sure I had accidentally erased my iPhone pre-order entirely.

Now I'm sure that its just the site slowly processing the outgoing shipping in waves of users. I can take a deep breath and clutch the printed out receipt of my order and wait for the shipping info e-mail.

To those of you hoping for early arrival, I'm pessimistic. In past releases they've always scheduled the pre-ordered items to arrive the same day as the retail store release. So I don't expect to see my phone until Thursday. As painful as it is to wait!

EDIT: Forgot to add that when I spoke to Verizon Customer Care earlier today (to cancel accidental 2nd order) I was told that the credit card isn't charged until the shipping information is created. So if you've been billed your phone has been shipped.

for what it's worth, my order number never worked on the order page we are being directed to now. I tried it this morning and it also error'd out. The order status page that was within the iPhone ordering site was the one that always worked (had the note bubble on the right with your order details and that info got ajax'd in).

They will not be holding them until the 10th. They said "on or before the 10th". Just like last year with the AT&T iPhone 4 pre-orders, some people got them early, including me.

Same thing happened with the FedEx site during the AT&T pre-order shipments. All the people checking their tracking crashed their site. Maybe they don't want to crash the FedEx site again so they're holding back on info.
