Just so you know, I am a British ex pat, moved here a year ago and so have no credit history in the USA.

I understand that they wanted a deposit, my point is that they should have made that clear before adding it to the bill...

I was going to point out that was probably the scenario given your user name and language.... ;)

I agree it should have been, "we will need to obtain a $400 deposit, if that is agreeable then call or do something to accept and blah blah blah" rather than just sending you a new bill with an additional $400 on it.

My electric company recently decided the way to ensure i pay on time is to charge me a $768 deposit, despite the dude telling me on the phone i have an excellent, consistent payment history. Thank you ex-husband for refusing to pay that last bill you were ordered by the court to pay.... The gift that keeps on giving.

Anyway, I'd be ticked too!

Ahhhhh

I WANT MY IPHONE!!!!!!! GOING TO BE A DAY LATE!!!!

So many impatient people.

Ha ha! :) I love it when people get so obsessed with crap and cannot wait to get the latest and greatest thing. Chill out, it's just a phone. Live your life, walk out side and breath, go hang out with a friend.

Is anyone else getting "Order canceled"?

I currently have a 3GS with AT & T. It's time to upgrade, and because of the lousy signal in my area I want to go Verizon for my 4S. Yesterday I signed up on the Verizon site. The process was fast and everything seemed to work normally. A few minutes later, I received a confirmation e-mail. The a few minutes after that, another e-mail telling me "Your order has been cancelled."

Is the second e-mail a phish of some sort, or is my order actually canceled for some reason? Should I have signed up on the Apple site?

I know that everyone wants their phone on launch day, and I am excited to get mine on launch day as well, which is why I pre-ordered. However, if mine (AT&T) gets pushed a week, I will survive. In a month, I don't think that I'll even be worried about whether my phone comes on Friday, Saturday, or a week from Saturday. I do get kind of amazed when people are saying that they are furious about what might be a small delay, or some suggestions to switch carriers if you won't get your phone on one day vs another.

This.

Open, it'll be ok. Just pay the deposit and be done with it.
