Verizon Sells Out of iPhone Pre-Orders

It is in the same town 1 hour away. I will go to Vz, they open 2 hours earlier.
OTOH, many of these buyers will have unlimited data plans for less than $30. To be honest, in the long run it's worth it to get the phone now. They'll more than make up the money when the data rates increase very shortly.

Huh? I think you've got that backwards.
at&t's slowest 3G speed is easily faster than Verizon's fastest 3G and has been noted everywhere as a con for the Verizon iPhone.

I just found the Cnet video you tried to link to. They're testing in one of the absolute WORST cities to test in for at&t. at&t in SF and NYC are beyond oversaturated. Go anywhere else and at&t's data speed is much, much faster.

Agreed. I didn't even know this existed, I can see becoming a rabid fan of a device, but a phone company? I couldn't care less. I must be missing something.
Hyperbole. I use at&t iPhone everyday, all day, and it works great for voice and data. Yes, VZW might be better over all but why not show some maturity and nuance?
Figures never lie, but liars sure figure. Watch that CNET video. CDMA was faster. Its faster where I live too.
I use a 3G Verizon MiFi at work for my internet connection, and it works pretty darn well I must say. Only thing it does not do real well at is when I am trying to watch Netflix or use it to watch streaming tv shows. I am pretty sure 3G for my phone would be just fine.
I've been able to use every iPhone I've had since it came out with no issue. Get your facts straight before you make empty comments.
I'm glad more people will be able to enjoy the iPhone in more places... My advice for those on at&t who have decent service, don't jump ship yet. Wait to see how it will actually perform in the places you use it.
In the Dallas area and now in San Diego, at&t is great for me. I would really hate to lose the voice/data simultanous service, and I would hate to drop down to a lower speed.
Don't get caught in the "the grass is greener" fallacy. I'm not addressing those with bad connections - no brainer to switch - this is for those with decent at&t service. Be patient. VZW already announced they WILL further slow down the service for the heaviest of users - is that you??

Your welcome to come here to the space coast of Florida and try that test in one of the tech centers of the east. You know we do rocket science here! But how does our ATT service work? Many times you see the big E on your phone. Thats right, we see Edge service offen. no mater what you say Verizon 3G (which is everywhere here) is always going to be faster (and a lot) then edge or the other thing we see here a lot, NO SERVICE.

Thanks but no thanks, also I'd prefer to continue using mywi when in a call, thank you very much. Also, i always find myself in situations when I need to look something up online while in a call, movie times for example. Maybe if I actually dropped calls on att, which I don't because their service is absolutely flawless in my area. I've been enjoying my iPhone 4 without issue for half a year now, but enjoy your almost outdated slow as balls iPhone vzw people, I'm still happy for you.
1) This is just a bit of psy-ops. It's not sold out, just on hiatus to ramp up the hype another notch for round 2. This is an iPhone 4 after all. What is to get excited about with #5 a few short months away.

That's got to suck. I was lucky enough to get the order in at 305 EST; anyhow, there is a vzw retail store about 5 minutes away from my house and at least 3-4 of those mall things within 10 minutes. You must live in no mans land
