Is anyone curious why verizon is doing this? Usually when you get something for free, it means not free. How are they selling our views/information by giving this to us...

I'm not so concerned at the front end. You're going from two subscriptions to one, with the Verizon subscription having been added from outside the app. But on the other end, when the Verizon sub runs out, there will be a period (minutes? hours? days?) when you won't have any subscription (Apple is unlikely to give you an in-app button to subscribe while a subscription is already active). During that brief window in between, six months from now, when you have no subscription, that's when I'm concerned about it discarding all the associated playlists and such. It may be a problem that doesn't happen. I'm not quite willing to risk it. Yet.

In any case, I think my yearly sub renewed sometime in the last few months, so it'd be a long time before the Verizon sub actually kicked in.
[doublepost=1534490344][/doublepost]Thanks, we're all glad you came into this thread to tell us that. Collective worry over whether this would cause you to break up with Spotify was keeping us up at night.
You’re very welcome COOORAL

Doesn't work or me. It detects I have the Apple Subscription and Verizon Subscription and need to cancel one. I canceled the Apple one but still shows that I have both. Endless loop. Would be nice to save $60 dollars.

Nothing is lost.

Contrary to my last post, I figured it out. I signed up for the trial with Verizon so I get 6 months free. I canceled my Apple sub. but it still has some time left that I paid for. When it runs out, the Verizon sub will kick in and go until it runs out in Feb. 2019. I already opted out of the Verizon sub. so when it ends, it WONT auto renew. I will switch back to Apple sub. Prefer handling it in app anyway.

My playlists and music are all still there. It's linked to your Apple ID. As long as that doesn't change, nothing is lost. :)

How do you opt out with Verizon so it doesn't automatically start charging $9.99 a month after 6 months?
