The upgrade is attached to the specific sim thats in the phone that's sent out. Not the phone itself[/QUOTE]

So then I should be able to do this:

Line 1: UDP. Order phone line 2 wants.
Line 2: UDP. Order phone line 1 wants.

When they arrive, pop UDP SIM card from line 1 iphone 5 into the phone line 2 used upgrade on, and vice versa.

Seems way too easy haha.

That won't work. You'll still be activating the sims sent w the phones. You need to use the sim from either your iP5 or iP5S

I am still on the fence with doing it, even though many others say it worked. With the SIM example makes me think of this. If I would take my unlimited sim out of my phone and lets say put it in a persons phone who has the share everything plan.

Would that mean they would have unlimited as long as they have my sim in their phone? Oddball question but I still might go full retail to keep it.

Haha no it doesn't work like that. You need to use your old sim on your own line. Take the old sim from your old iPhone. It needs to be a 5 or 5S and put it into your new iP6 before ever turning it on. The idea is to never activate the new sim they sent over. On ANY line.

Thanks, I have heard of that. I still get a bit nervous doing it though, I mean paying full retail is a SURE way keep it. But it is much more financially viable to use an upgrade.

You can't "give" your UDP to someone else. Let say you weren't trying to keep your UDP.
If you gave an old phone to a friend w the sim in the card, it wouldn't give them your UDP. It would just be a non upgraded device on their line. You keep your plan!

Verizon unlimited data SIM switch work???

As I understand it there is a nfc chip on the new sim card that came with your iPhone 6. So those that are using there old iphone 5 sim card may lose some apple pay functionality.

Right. That's what I was saying, put the current sim in my iPhone 5 in the new iPhone 6 I ordered under my wife's line, and vice versa with her line.

I'm still on the fence with trying this haha. If I could find some in stock I would transfer to TDP and just do it twice in a row, but I'm also trying to get the trade in value for my 5's.

This is exactly what I did and kept my unlimited on Verizon.

I used my wife's upgrade on her line who already has a data plan and purchased an iphone 6 plus. I did not want to use my upgrade because I have Unlimited and dont want to lose it.

I went to apple store yesterday to pick up the new phone, I specifically asked them to not open up the box. The box was not opened, but they did have to activate the new iphone on my wife's phone number per Verizon policy for using an upgrade and signing a new two yr contract.

When I got home I opened up the new iphone six plus box for the first time and took the sim card out of the iphone 6 plus and put it in my iphone 5 since my wife is taking my old iphone. I then took the sim card from my old iphone 5 and put it into the iphone 6 plus. I then powered up both phones and success both iphones recognized by Verizon. My wife is now using my old iphone 5 and I am using the new iphone 6 plus on my line still keeping my UPGRADE and UNLIMITED DATA.
