Some things I learned yesterday from my conversation with CS.
I ordered a new line of service for our company and was not able to add the line to the shared minutes plan. Was forced to get a new calling plan. On the plus side, I was able to select a Global unlimited data plan though I was skeptical.
Called in to get the voice plan straightened out and apparently we were under a very old voice/minutes plan. The story was, if I was buying or using older equipment, then I could add onto that plan. But newer equipment (such as the iPhone and possibly some droid phones) were not eligible to be added. I had to update to a new voice plan. Not a big deal as the packages were very similar.
But what I learned from that is that Verizon can very easily and arbitrarily decide a cutoff that disallows certain equipment onto certain plans. So enjoy the unlimited data grandfathering. I'm pretty sure there will be something in the future like, there is no 5G unlimited plan. You can keep 4G unlimited with your current equipment or older equipment, but sorry, if you want the new phone, you need to get a new plan.
Also, turns out the global unlimited was in fact, unlimited. The story is, you pretty much can sign up for any plan that someone else in your company is on. So if you've got one employee with global data roaming, everyone else can sign up for that plan also. But if you cancel that plan, you're out of luck.
But for those of you that don't have unlimited data or global, you can get it back with certain biz accounts.
Oh, last thing. Under weird warnings. CS person also told me that if you ever get a loaner phone, make sure it's a smartphone and stays on the same plan. Even if its Verizon that hands you a loaner phone b/c you dropped your iphone into a tub and can't afford to buy a new one for 2 months, keep your plan or else you lose it.
