Ya im getting the run around here. Every rep i talk to is telling me its impossible. If one of you could call and ask how you could get it for a friend and maybe give me the answer to what they say?

Carrier Verizon Update Available 9/15...can I still pre-order 2-year contract?

That would be wonderful. Maybe act like you are asking for family member or friend? And how I could get the same thing.
I just checked my myverizon again. Although, it still says I have an upgrade but it now no longer lets me choose 2 Year contract pricing. There is actually no selection now. It's all monthly pricing.

I think I have this figured out now. Go to the very bottom of the main iPhone 7 page and go to iPhone Upgrade Program. Click "Find out if you're eligible to upgrade," and enter your serial number and last four of your IMEI. It should then give you four different options to pay, one being a 2 year contract price.
I called Verizon they did not tell me much other then that they don't know much. I am assuming that they are checking all accounts with lines that are close to be eligible for upgrades and they are changing their upgrade dates.
So my verizon account account regarding my upgrade has totally changed. It now says my contract ends 10-3-2016 and I have 24 days left until upgrade. I'm on hold with verizon now.
It's crazy how it's gone from upgrade to no upgrade in 24 hours.

Just got off phone with verizon. My upgrade is available but not reflected in my online account. I will have to call into verzion to get the upgrade.

My upgrade date was 10/5 and my wife's was 12/15. Both are now eligible, however the contract date reflects the prior dates. I suppose that is so that they will still charge the full $40 device fee until the contract period is over. THoughts?
Finally, after recording feedback where I said I was dissatisfied got a call back from Christine on the leadership team. She changed it so I could upgrade today. She was surprised it hadn't been done since it was obvious I was only 3 days away and an easy way to make a customer happy. (That's what I thought) Thanks Christine!!
So mine says contract end date 9/20 but also says upgrade eligible. Since I'm going to buy the phone outright, I'm not sure it really matters? I'll just continue on with VZW...am I wrong here? I'll just switch my number to another device essentially.
If you are going to buy the phone outright, then you don't need to do anything, just choose Verizon as your carrier and pay the full retail price. But keep checking till midnight Verizon is changing upgrade dates they should change yours today and also call (611) they will tell you about your upgrade date.
What a disaster but I got my Verizon iPhone 7Plus black. Took 40 minutes with car. She had to get approval to move up my renewal date. 9-23 delivery.
The confirmation email she sent does not work with iOS Safari. I had to open it in chrome to activate the button. What a joke.
