All the carriers are having problems with this launch it seems. I would very firmly ask for a significant credit for this screw up. They've repeatedly told you information that turned out to be incorrect. You should get at least a free month of service, if not two.

Update:

Figured I should post an update. No movement on order yesterday. But.....last night, ICONIC updated to a full page of text but I couldn't find the ICONIC status. I checked my credit card and saw a pending Verizon Wireless Charge, and then this morning, I received a tracking number! FINALLY! Looks like at least this part of the journey, the rep was truthful in shipping it next day air as the phone is shipping today and scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

I still plan on calling Verizon again and asking for a credit on my account as I feel I am derserving of one. As to how much they will offer, who knows.

Same thing happened to me with Sprint.Except when I cancelled they hit me with 1200 in ETF's.For 2 iPhones and a flip phone.Even though I never received one of the iPhones and returned the other devices within the 14 day buyers remorse period

Check it out! Verizon's phones don't appraise the same after 10/15 !

So I ordered two iphone 6's from Verizon (by phone call) on September 17th..was told delivery would be 10/7...then got email extending delivery to 10/16. Phones arrived as well as a box to "return" you just needed to print labels.
When I ordered the phones my 5c and 4s both appraised for $200.00 apiece so that was a huge incentive. I still had to pay over $600.00 as an advance though.
We were sure we wanted to keep the phones and tried to print the labels the next day but the site wouldn't allow printing so I went to the local store and asked to hand my phones in. I was told no...it must be requested from the site and that whatever I did NOT to follow the instructions that arrived in the box.. they were incorrect! Yikes! I can't imagine what no mans land they would have arrived in.... So...the agent did the request for us and told us in 1 week we would have the required return labels by email. They didn't arrive so I called yesterday and discovered that the 4s was no longer worth $200.00 because the cut off date was 10/15!! YEP!!
So...despite their delays and absolutely NO notification that they were dropping the amount - they simply said "you were required to notify us by 10/15 IF you wanted to return your old phones!
When I asked why I wasn't told that on the original call....it also wasn't on their website at the time....AND more importantly I didn't even have the new phone yet...they said there was absolutely nothing they could do. They were sorry but Apple had everything to do with it and it was simply "Unfortunate that our phones were delayed from Apple"
I have made the decision after 15 years with Verizon that I am finally done.
Verizon used to have the most exceptional service and when there were issues they always made the right customer service choice but this situation from the 1st phone call to the last as well as a walk-in visit were all misinformation...
SO...if you are in the delayed wait game with them - make sure your phone is worth what it was when the order was placed --

Update: Phone out for delivery....so as long as they didn't send the wrong phone, we should be okay.

Called Verizon, asked for credit - $85 credit given, better than nothing.
