'Do it right' - is a pretty personal interpretation concerning the matter.

I did it right too, when I bought mine. I bought it however as fast as it was possible to buy here, as the old 2018 I had was slow as a turtle.
Right, I had of course put aside money for it, and got interest rate etc. for my money during that time.
It's never any discount on newer Mac's here. Might take some time before you can see some cheaper prices at retailers, and I usually like my Mac's new when I buy them 😀

Apple and other retailers have fairly similar prices in the beginning when Apple release new products. After some time it shifts slightly though.
Do it right for me, means pay it upfront, you have the money and can afford it. Do it wrong, pay it with extra percent installment.
The only thing I pay and take loan for is my home's, nothing else.

Got a nice Samsung 2TB SSD on Amazon-days for 50% to my MBA's CCC/TM - real speedy, and it’s small enough for me.

I have iPad Air and MacBook Pro… good combo 🫨

Same here.
MacBook Pro is my desk workhorse.
MacBook Air is my mobile machine.

I intend to sell my MacBook Pro soon though - I want to replace it with a M4 Max Studio, with a Studio Display, as soon as they are released.

I did have an iPad Pro, with the Apple Keyboard and Pencil, but found iOS a little limiting, so got the MBA instead.

You, of course, mean 2TB ;)

iPads are consumption tools.

And it always amuses me when people try to turn it into a creation tool. iPadOS is too kludgy for that.

The whole "stuffing 10lbs of crap into a 5lb bag" situation.

Those YouTube videos are comical, with all the hoops people jump through, connecting keyboards/mice/trackpads to make an iPad work like a MacBook, and yet it is still sub-optimal.

The Mini 6, meaning version 6 of the iPad Mini.

I understand this view and it's not wrong. However I will weigh in on my use case which isn't just consumption. I use the 11Pro M4 for my primary photo editing machine. I browse RAW files on a NAS, edit them in Affinity Photo and then save them directly back onto the NAS within the software. On-photo editing was what compelled me from moving my photo editing workflow from a MB pro with a Wacom. Game changer for me. I also have the MB Air M2 and love it for other workflows like PowerPoint, etc.

Oooooooh …. An M4 Air 13, 24gb, 1tb is $1,599 while a 32gb is $1,799.

I may trade in the M3 next year
