Very strange "scratches" on the back (inside?)

I am not party to any conspiracy theories. My theory is that the OP got a poorly assembled watch. I would expect others to say theirs are assembled very well, or that they don't see uneven transitions in that area.

Let’s see your perfectly assembled AW ultra, rather than creating theories out of thin air. Why would you expect others to prove something in your mind? That is a conspiracy theory.

Regardless of how or when the scratches got there, the OP's watch looks poorly assembled to me.

Does anyone else have an Ultra that has such obvious uneven transitions between the sensors and the surrounding material?

If the watch was poorly assembled then given how clearly obvious the scratches are, how come the OP did not notice them when checking out the watch once it was removed from it's box?

In my opinion there is no way the official Apple charging puck caused these scratches, maybe if they were circular in shape I might believe it to be the cause. Most likely caused by a coarse watch band or laying the watch completely flat on a rough surface and it getting scratch while picking it back up.

OP, what are the exact bands you have used with your Ultra watch?

The official apple charging puck is only a theory.

After looking at the pictures again, I still think the scratch is caused by foreign material (bits of dry flaky skin or sand) stuck between the watch and the skin. Keep in mind the scratches only go in 1 direction only so I don't think it is caused by the watch band.

Coming from an environment where QC is crucial, but having seen some of the things that get past QC, I suppose a manufacturing defect is the least disturbing option, since accidental damage, bands, and chargers seem to be ruled out.

The only other thought that comes to mind is if OP made someone with access to the watch really angry.
