I must be doing something wrong. All the photos ive been taking with my new phone are nowhere near as good quality as my 6s.

Ive read about a case interfering with the quality, I took today without a case, its absolutely awful.
It was taken with the normal lens, and even items close to the front, are just so blurred.
Im starting to think I have a fault device.

Any tips guys?

Strongly suggest you upload some comparisons between the two devices.

weirdly, the photos taken on the phone in question are shadowed out when trying to choose? Any ideas? It says HEIC if that means anything?

Maybe you are taking live photos- a hybrid of a very short video and a photo. When you review these and tap and hold a finger on these, do you see the short videoclip?

In the camera app there should be a dedicated button to switch the function on/off.

Shadowed out? What’s that mean. Either way, as others said, no one can diagnose your issues unless you’re able to upload your photos.

Heic is a new format by apple. U can switch back to jpeg under settings

bit as long as the pictures of the 11 are worse to the 6 under the same conditions, yes u probably have a faulty device.

by close to the front you keep a min distance of 30cm.

Hi guys

Excuse the late reply as I sent the device back to o2 who returned it and said there is nothing wrong.

As this is completely untrue, I am lodging another complaint with video evidence and photo comparisons.

Now as this needs to be as argument proof as possible, can anyone recommend me the colours and ligthing I should use to show this. Furthermore, I've just tested the camera again and there is definitely a stutter before the photo is produced, which im sure is what is making it blurry.

Im trying to record a video of this, so I can also forward this. Weirdly Apple agree, but have said I had to go back to the supplier.

Any advice on the best way to show this fault would be much appreciated, Im not imagining it! lol

I’m asking about what would be good to take so I can upload and get an opinion.

So in regards to photos to upload, (which I will be taking tomorrow), any suggestions that will highlight things? Colours, shapes etc?

I’m thinking flowers and a fruit bowl lol

You’re the one complaining the pictures are bad, how are you asking what pictures to take to show it’s bad? Literally makes no sense.

My camera sucks, what pictures can I upload to prove it sucks?

Sounds like you’re just looking for issues.

You've jumped through all the hoops to send the thing back, yet still not posted a photo on here. You're in danger of wasting people's time.

If possible find a friend with the same phone and do some shots with the same settings including night mode. If your phone is noticeably worse than your friends phone then it might be a faulty phone which can be replaced with a new phone.

I have the same issue with the X after one of the updates (iOS13+), not always, but sometimes. I now wait a while longer when taking a picture to make sure it will come out as I want it. It seems it really is a software thing and I hope they will improve it.

Make a jpeg instead. You can change this in the camera settings.

Everyone of those links goes to an awful ad-webpage that says I need to subscribe. I would suggest you find a better way to get these pictures across. Maybe upload them via a computer if you are trying to do it via your phone at the moment.

Ah sorry about that, they should just load when you open them.

Uploading via a comp and phone isnt working. Ill try again now on Safari on comp as Firefox isnt working

EDIT: None of my photos are uploading under any method, not even linking to the image...

Im trying my best to find somewhere to upload them that doesn't have ads

Is the first pic in each pair the 6s of the 11 Pro?

Thanks.

Thanks for looking. To get another opnion, which of the ones in the links do you think are the 11 pro max?

The two photos above clearly to me show how awful the quality is and how comparable it is to the 6S.

These two photos below are the 11 Pro Max, is this as good as its supposed to be... really?

A photograph is only ever as good as ours subject. Try taking a scenic shot with both cameras from an identical position. The newer camera should have a lot more detail and depth, as all as better colours in the overall image.
