This was to be expected. If you worry about aesthetics, I don’t think the VESA mount was for you in the first place. VESA arms are rarely elegant anyway. Maybe you should look for one of the two standsJust got my Studio display with VESA mount and really disappointed about where Apple have put the logo on the back. The VESA mount covers half of it up!
Interesting. I wonder why they didn't use the same setup as the 24" iMac? Did the 27" iMac with VESA have a similar position?

Probably because they design the Studio Display to be used in portrait mode, contrary to the iMac which is not designed for that purpose (even if it's probably possible to do so). If you rotate the Studio Display in portrait mode, it is more logical to place the VESA mount on the center of the screen, as a rotation would be more even than placing it at a lower position like the iMac. In portrait mode, the VESA arm or stand would be off and the weight would not be distributed evenly. Only guessingInteresting. I wonder why they didn't use the same setup as the 24" iMac? How’s it look on?I also don't like the covering of the Logo,
The backside if the Studio will be visible in my setup,
so I created my own backplate so the logo will be better visible

But then if you rotate it vertically, it will be off-balance.
Wait is this an option on the iMac
Still waiting for my order to be deliveredHow’s it look on?
Rotating the iMac has no use, the screen does not auto-rotateBut then if you rotate it vertically, it will be off-balance.
and it's kinda weird to rotate a screen off center.
I came from a third world. The only time we look at our displays from the back is when we need to dry rainwater from it when the ceiling leaks. Most troublesome during the CRT era where the backside is longer and has more surface area that can catch said water. So you look at the back of your display all the time do you? Third World problem here
Yeah, that’s why the vesa mount could be off centerRotating the iMac has no use, the screen does not auto-rotate
Yes yes yes and yes. I really expect Apple fans to care about details a bit more than other average users. So, I don't care about this in the sense that it's functionally unimportant if the logo is covered, but this kind of design sloppiness worries me for what it could say about attention to detail. There was a detail about how the iphone corners are curved and why it was just slightly better. The fact that, unlike some phones, the screws on the bottom of the iphone line up perfectly.
Individually none of these are that important, but the ethos of sweating tiny things matters as indicator of the overall attention to detail.
