Has anyone successfully completed a pre-pre-order on the Veteran's and Military store? It looks like it's possible but the "continue" button stays greyed out. Support was very unhelpful. If you have been successful what carrier and what options did you use?

Thanks!

I can figure that out either. I don’t think it is possible. I wish the Apple Store App would allow the Military discount, as then it would be easy to do the preorder. Makes no sense, you can’t get the Military discount via the Apple Store App, unless I just don’t know how.

I haven't been able to pre order either.

It is very annoying that we can't do it on the App. It's SUPER annoying that we can't do the pre-pre-order on either! Thanks for validating it isn't just me.

I haven't been able to pre order either.
Thank you for letting me know. Grr.

I'm not able to pre-order on either version of the website, veteran or normal.

It looks like regular pre-preorders are available again after a hiccup this morning. But, veteran pre-preorders are still not available. I imagine it won’t be possible. At least preorders will be available tomorrow for veteran pricing. 2 years ago this wasn’t the case.

I spent 30 minutes working with Apple last night on this. We all came to the conclusion that it is not possible, unfortunately.

Thank you for confirming. It’s a bummer, but we’ll live, I guess!

I chatted with a "specialist" this morning and after he checked, he came back with that none of the discount stores have the "get ready" function available. I suggested that this be made possible in the future and he said he passed it to his supervisor.

its a bummer but worth maybe missing the first shipments imo. Only $200 to trade in a 12 max for a 13 max? No brainer I think

Pretty sure you can only buy the new phones outright w/ the military discount. I don’t think they’ve ever offered a preorder with the discount b/c I remember trying last year with no luck.

I ordered through the military site last year. I’m doing it again this year.

No, you can’t set up your pre-order the way it works for the regular store app.

Just be ready at 5AM PDT. Have all of your credit card and account info up to date now because the store is going down in another 1 1/2 hour. Be familiar with your configuration and click quickly. Last year it took me 10 minutes to get my order in and I almost went through the app, but it finally went through and I still got launch day delivery.

Good luck!

I bought on pre-order day and received the discount for the phone and AppleCare+

The military discount works from whenever a new device launches, no delays. I’ve bought my MBP, iPhone, and plenty of refurbs and accessories with the military discount.

I second the wish to be able to verify and use the app for the discount! This is the first time I'm ordering our phones via the military page. I passed on a phone last year and the year before I don't remember if it was available or I just didn't think about it. I did do our iMac pre orders on the military page and got mine on release day hubby's a few days later. When you factor in the discount on the phone AND the discount on apple care... I guess it is "better" to miss release day vs paying that much more money!

Too bad they don't allow the 0% payments on Apple Card.... apparently they allow both the discount and payments on the education site... or at least with the iMacs they did.... but not the military who fight for this country.....

Yes, you can absolutely buy the phone on release day with the discount. I got my Apple Watch on launch day last year via the military site with no issues. But you can’t preorder the phones, unfortunately. I’d imagine it has something to do with the financial side of things with each carrier and Citizens Bank, if trying to use the Upgrade Program.

edit: I’m talking about the preorder before the preorder, if that makes sense. I wish we could configure everything via the app with the discount like regular preorders so that all it takes is a few clicks and your phone is ordered.

demand isnt as crazy as it used to be, unless you're requesting a color that has less supply(and who knows what that will be), you'll probably get it at launch or close to.

I hope so! I whine and cry a lot if I miss release day! Lol! I‘m not ordering blue so I hope I’m ok!

I did have to go to apple to pick up my green phone 2 years ago to get release day! Hope I can stay home this year!!

so you buy the phone from apple.com and buy applecare+ later from military store?
My husband tried this and learned you couldn’t. You can only get AppleCare+ discounted if you buy it at the same time you purchase the phone on the military site. You can’t come back later and purchase it separately at the discounted price.

They wouldn't let me 2 years ago. I didn't find a way to buy JUST apple care online and when I called to try to get it on the phone... they wouldn't/couldn't do it. So I paid full price.
