smh @ people that actually use "bars" to try and measure signal loss. If you only knew how inaccurate you are. Its great you can hold on to 5 bars constantly, however, that fact helps NOBODY becuase it is not an accurate measure of signal. Dial *3001#12345#* into your phone so that your bars change to numbers. The lower the number the worse (note that the numbers are negative). That is the true measurement of signal, stop with this bars non-sense

as you can see, a 20 dB drop in signal wont affect people with 5 bars, but will render a 3 bar phone useless.

Okay, I'll quote myself.

"when I'm in buildings that block phone signals my phone will drop to 2-3 bars. 2-3 bars is exactly what my girlfriend gets on her iphone 3gs in the same place. According to your theory I should have 1 or no bars but that is obviously not true."

So no... when im at places where others get 2-3 bars, I also get 2-3 bars. smh@ people that just don't get it... ALUMINUM CASES WORK FOR SOME OF US. edit. ALOT OF US. When are YOU going to get it? Stop with the "bars aren't an accurate measurement" nonsense because regardless of what bars look like my phone wrks 100% fine... like it does for many others. now can you, jayjayjay, and the rest of you get over it and move on please. the rest of us would like to enjoy our cases in peace

If you are just looking at the signal strength on your phone to determine if there is any signal loss, thats a joke!

ALL metallic cases will weaken signal strength regardless of the design. It is the law of physics!!!

And why would it matter if my phone works perfectly fine even in places where everyone else gets bad signal? who cares what signal loss there is... 5 bars is still 5 bars lmao its better than 4 bars, or 3, or 2 or 1 or none...

As I am OP of the thread, I have 2 of these cases and they work fine. Have not had any signal issues at all!

How are the accessory and headphone ports? Can take a myriad of accessories?

You simply dont comprehend. Read carefully.

If your phone works with an aluminum case then good for you. But dont try to give advice to ANYBODY else by measuring your bars or saying it just "works" for YOU. Give a measurable value that somebody else can use to see if the case will affect their phone or not.

Maybe you dont understand the concept, its a scientific measure. No one here doubted you and said your phone doesn't work but for some reason you keep defending that point. Whoopty doo. All we are saying is that all aluminum cases affect signal, whether you see the results of that in daily usage will fluctuate from person to person so therefore, if you are going to comment on it at all, give some actual stats, such as it only drops you 4 dB or whatever. That way someone else looking into the case will be able to tell how it will affect them and can even translate it back the "bars" you value so much.

Do you understand?

sidenote:; Did you really just campare your signal with a completely different phone to prove a point? The iPhone 3GS is not the iPhone 4 so whatever point you were trying to prove there is null and void.

miss the point much? When I'm in areas where I get 2-3 bars, my phone still works perfectly fine with the vapor pro. (according to you it would render your phone useless). In those same areas with my otterbox or iskin claro I also have 2-3 bars. So what does that show? Vapor pro barely has any effect if any. So yes the Vapor Pro will work for people even with 2-3 bars.

I've been using the Element Vapor Pro White on the 4S since December and no issues at all. I live in Los Angeles and use it mostly here, but also on trip i took to SF and Vegas last month. GPS and signal working fine, no drop calls no nothing. And I don't just sit there and look at bars either. Just use it like normal without a case and I personally do not notice anything different. At home, I get full 5 bars with or without case so I can't tell. In South Coast Plaza I get 2 bars with or without case, I run speedtest and also get similar results.. so I don't even know -_-" Just use it like normal :)

Yes, it works! I didn't even care about element cases until my girlfriend bought me the r8 pro. It's definitely grown on me :D

Bet it makes people that can't afford to get the case angry that there are no issues with it so they troll forums trying to turn people off em.

So anyone got insight about the headphone jack and accessory port? Are they big enough?

The headphone jack is big enough for apple headphones. The sync opening is big enough for the new thin cord, but not the older, bigger cord with the 2 buttons on the side, it is too thick to fit. I think I'm over the case, it looks super nice, minimal bulk, but the reception issues in my area are killing me. Now I'm stuck with a brand new black and a lightly used blue veyronx that I have nothing to do with after swtiching to a element vapor pro.

Since you seem to have the vapor pro that does not affect signal at all, why dont you just post up the raw numbers and shut me up?

And your last statement is just untrue, I have 2-3 bars, and (had) an AUTHENTIC vapor pro purchased straight from element which rendered my phone useless. So how is it you can make that general and broad statement? Somebody might actually believe you and buy it, and could possibly not even be able to use it. Luckily for me i got a refund but somebody else might not be so fortunate.

Bottom line Im done arguing, post up pics that show the whole phone and have the dB measurement. One with the case, one without. And prove me wrong. Please. And if you do, make sure we can see the WHOLE phone not just the screen, because your claims are already suspect enough. Otherwise I'm done. Cheers

I don't need to prove anything to anyone. I don't work for element. It's not even my favorite case. Currently I'm using the Impactband by baseonelabs that just came in the mail and love it.

It's funny people that argue soooo hard against the vapor pro like their life depends on it... dude its an iphone case. I put it on once in a while then get tired of it and switch it off. No more special then my otterbox, or iskin, etc etc. It's funny watching forever alones care so much about something so stupid :D

Too bad about your 2-3 bars though... That means I can use ANY aluminum case and still have better signal than you LOL!
