Just picked up a pair. Soundstage is more three dimensional but I’m also finding them rather “muffled”. Not sure how I feel about this. I feel like there is too much bottom end and no clarity. Anyone else notice this?
Yes. And it seems that the left bud keeps dropping sound intermittently, which is frustrating. I’ve been trying to figure out if the skin detector isn’t sitting on my ear properly or something, but the seal is good. I must just be doing it wrong, right?

very happy with mine, a good upgrade from the first gen. doesn't always connect as well as first gen though. maybe a bug

Yep colorware is awesome! Have gotten my last 2 pair of airpods and my mouse and keyboard too from them
Too bad their prices are ridiculously high though. $389 ($140 more than AirPods Pro 2) to just get the left and right units in a different color, and an extra $50 on top of that if you want the charging case in a different color.

when you see their quality of work, the painstaking efforts they go through to get the paint just right, you know why they are priced that high. To each their own I guess.

Apple, I have your shiny new iPhone 14 Pro with AirPods Pro 2. Noise cancellation is superb. But why in the world does it take so long to connect the AirPods to the iPhone when I answer a call: Phone rings, I pick up the AirPods and insert them in my ears, I answer the call, the phone is set to use the top speaker, if I wait long enough, it sometimes changes over to the AirPods, but I will usually not wait since I have answered the call and press the AirPods button myself. Then the dance starts: "Hello...hello, are you there, hello...oh there you are..." For Christ's sake, FIX THIS!!!

These are so tempting, but my first gen are still doing well, and given that everything will be going to usb c soon, I might hold out for that.

Do they work better for calls in a noisy environment?. The gen1 pick up too much noise and the voice is cut when I am trying to have a call on a normal street. The other party always complains they can’t understand me.
Does nobody uses AirPods for calls on the street????

I'm impressed with them. I tried the first gen and they would not stay in my ears. I had heard the second gen stayed in your ears better, and I figured that was BS. I tried them anyway and they really do stay in my ears. I'm constantly checking them, figuring they've slid out a little and they never do. I don't know if it is the shape of the tips or if they changed the material they are made of, but they actually stay in my ears. I fully admit that I'm waiting for the honeymoon to be over. That maybe after a month of use, the tip's surface will change and then they'll start coming out of my ears.
This has me tempted to try a pair. My girlfriend got the last gen a few months back and neither of us could get them to stay in our ears with any configuration of the tips so she ended up returning them.

Used them for cross-country flight for 1st time. ANC is incredible for blocking out engine and cabin noise and comfort was top-notch for my 4 1/2 hours. Pretty crazy. Head tracking spatial is fine when phone is in front of me, but searches around when in back pocket. Turned off head tracking but kept spatial on.

Great review video. Re the comment at 7:50 about "..having the EQ.." - I have a question.

I have never owned/used any airpods yet, and am thinking of purchasing the Pro v2.

That said, does anyone know if the Settings > Music > EQ (under Audio) pre-sets that apple has available on the iPhone will affect music playback on any of the airpods? If so, does it cover all outbound audio on the iphone itself, or is it limited to the Apple Music app only?

Won't really affect my decision to purchase, more of a curiosity in general.

I‘ve had mine just over a couple of weeks now , they are my first pair of Bluetooth headphones . I didn’t try any others as I’m in the  ecosystem , I am more than pleased with the sound , the ANC and battery life so far . The Find My feature is great and the speaker on the case was louder than I thought it would be although I’ve tested it indoors so far . I do think  are on another planet charging for that lanyard 🤣

Anyone fly with their 2nd Gen AirPods Pro yet? I’m curious about how the ANC handles that. I know it won’t be as good as over the ear headphones, but they may have reached “good enough” status when it comes to handling aircraft cabin noise.

Truthfully, the lanyard loop is a huge selling point. Not sure why it’s being downplayed on here.
AirPod cases became a dime a dozen because no one wants to carry around a smooth tooth that they’ll easily lose. Adding that little loop means you can easily grab it in a bag, carry it to your car or have it accessible on your wrist so it’s not one more thing to carry that you forget and leave at home.

The ANC is much better than the first generation, and the sound signature has improved as well, but still not on par with Sony WF4 and probably cannot be, given the advantage of the Sony ear tip density for the passive blocking on top of the active. Even running Spinfit tips on the Sonys are still better than APP2.

So, APP2 is great for ordinary use, can’t be bested for convenience with iPhone or switching between Apple devices, but Sony (WH and WF series) is still the way to go for flights.

I upgraded from AirPods Pro first generation to these 2nd gen due to battery degrading over time. Much better upgrade and agree with everything on this review except the volume control placement, if it’s on the outside I feel like I would accidentally adjust the volume.

The EQ affects the sound coming from the AirPods. It only applies to sound coming from the Music app. I just tried it with the YouTube app, Spotify, and Safari. Spotify also has an EQ that applies only to sounds coming out of it.

Got it @dearwarsaw , I appreciate the answer on this.

Definitely in the minority here. During my 1st run, fully charged, my right AirPod stopped playing after 10 minutes. Came home and had to put them in the charger to start up again. 2nd run a few days later, they both stopped after 5 minutes and I had to remove them both and then place them back into my ears to continue. Minutes later, they stopped again. My original pros have never had this issue and I was really excited about the new features, especially the volume. They will be returned and I will wait until my original pros die before replacing them.

Speaking of EQ, I believe those presets date back to the iOS 7 days (maybe even before) and they still barely make an impact to anything I'm listening to. Customization is long overdue.

For music listening the sonic quality is night and day difference with the previous gen. You can actually hear bass now, and there's more mid-lower range in the mix and more subtleties coming out across the frequency range that weren't there before. They certainly won't beat a decent pair of headphones, but they are far more tolerable now and don't tire my ears out as much.

The battery life also seems much improved over the last gen Pros. With the prior generation I often struggled to keep enough power through multiple meetings a day, usually having to sneak in a recharge here or there. With the new gen I've never yet had them die on me.

I wore my Airpod Pro 2's to an outdoor concert. I didn't have the dreaded "2 day ear ringing" afterward. Sound quality between my AP 2's and APP2 are a level up. I still go back to my AP 2's because I really don't like having ear-tight lockage of my ear canals with the APP2's for too long. Mic quality while using discord seems to be good. No one complains that they can't hear me or that I sound muffled. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase.
