Wake from sleep and wifi will work for a minute, maybe a couple of minutes, and then network access just hangs/spins. At that point I usually turn wifi off and back on again, and suddenly everything is fine.

Had this problem with the 2018 Retina Air and now with my 2020 M1 MBP as well, with two entirely different brands of AP as well as various locations when traveling.

While various individuals will have mixed wifi results I would say it has to be some type of software you have installed that is causing an interruption of your wifi. My 2011 iMac (started with High Sierra) along with all my MacBooks after this machine have had zero issues with wake from sleep and using internet without interruption. In fact wifi and bluetooth have been 100% for many years. I live in an apartment complex with over 800 apartments loaded with wifi signals crossing back and forth and I haven't had a single issue. Was using the Apple Time Capsule for 8 years until I switched to the Netgear Orbi Wifi6 last year and it was a seamless switch. I would recommend giving your Mac/s a complete wipe of the drive and only install absolutely necessary apps (or none at all) so you can test out the sleep/wake/wifi first.

The new Features added to Final Cut Pro suite version 10.53 are more exciting than macOS Monterey and IOS 15 together.
Good. That is what we have wanted. An OS release that focuses on stability and polish.

Why would anyone ever need to mirror one Mac to another Mac?
You have a laptop and want to display something on your 27" iMac?
Either you want more screen space or you are presenting to someone else?

It only happens occasionally (on both iPhone and iPad). Not every time.

And sometimes I think it happens more often when I go back with a left-edge-swipe, that with the back-arrow. But sometimes it also happens with the back-button.
It may be a result of the page changing between viewings? If the page changed the content, the previous view point may be gone.

They’ll fix that at the same time they fix Wi-Fi on the MacBooks.

Which, btw is still wonky on the M1 in MacOS 12.
Really ? I didn't know that. wow... I have never had issues on the mac mini with wi-fi just Bluetooth. My solution is a USB hub with a Logitech mouse which works quite good. Did you find a solution ?

There are two threads on the M1 Wi-Fi issue here, and a few hundred users between the official apple support pages and reddit. What happens with the M1 is that the Wi-Fi is still connected, but stops sending / receiving data. There are some people that have this issue when using devices plugged into the USB-C ports, but seems that most (like myself) have the issue with nothing plugged in (or attached via bluetooth).

I've bought two different M1 Macbook Air(s) and the issue persisted with both of them from 11.2 -> 12.

The solution right now just seems to be turn of Wi-Fi and turn it back on.

Did they fix auto-opening windows on restarting MacOS? It seems to have been broken for years, automatically opening apps I had previously closed, swamping me with running applications

Also, how good is the erase and restore?
As a developer I install a lot of stuff that doesn't go through a drag and drop or normal installer... I'm sure they get their hooks in lots of places in the system. Since this is a Mac and not iOS where everything runs in neat little sandboxes, how do I actually know it erased the system and is the equivalent of a fresh install if I'm going to give it to someone else?
The Mac has long had a partition on the drive with the OS installer on it. To erase currently you boot off of that, go to disk utilities and then click on the drive and hit erase.

Just like with your phone, I"m sure the Mac has to reboot to erase, wherein it boots into that partition, and runs fdisk from that boot volume.

For example? Please expound a bit.

Well first, the ability for users to truly customize the home page on their tablets, and I don't mean just rearrange icons and add a widget. With the huge screens of the iPads, it is an absolute waste to have these icons scattered around, with no way to group them closer, or in any location you want. On iPads, there is way too much empty space. Widgets are fine, but Android had widgets for more than 10 years, as well as complete and full home page customization.

The iOS crippled method of 'multitasking', which isn't even multitasking. Again, Android had real multitasking for over 10 years. When Apple does it, it's implemented in the typical Apple way - cripple it as much as possible, within its own crippling framework. So now we have an iPad with the M1 chip, which is a powerhouse, and it's a complete shame that the true power of that chip won't be exercised on iPad OS.

Apple would never allow apps for iPad OS/iOS that even expand on multitasking capability. I suppose Apple fears competition from even other browsers, since Safari is the only browser that can use Apple's Javascript engine in the OS.

Don't get me wrong, I love my iPad. It just becomes frustrating when extraneous, convoluted workarounds have to be implemented to accomplish tasks that the iPad is easily capable, but is purposely crippled. We STILL don't have anything close to a real file system for iOS/iPad OS. That is ludicrous. iOS is heading into its 15th version and its suffocating file system really slows down professional workflows.

I'm not saying Android is better. I use iOS, iPad OS, and Android every day for my work and they both have their merits and shortcomings. I suppose Apple doesn't want the iPad to become too much like a MacBook, and I can understand that, but I also think that mindset is now outdated. The iPads have become just as powerful as MacBooks from a hardware standpoint, and the software should reflect that. It's long overdue.

How about on the Apple watch the ability to delete all those messages that have to be deleted one a time? If it is true handoff, then I should be able to delete all my messages on all my devices including the watch. Right now I can delete on my phone and my imac, my ipad, but not the watch? Now that is one big annoyance.

How about Apple fixes the speed of its OS compared to Android? I was at Disney's California Adventure a couple weeks ago and attempted to get a boarding group for the new SpiderMan ride. Logged in at EXACTLY 7AM, as did my brother on Android. He got boarding group 8. I didn't even get a boarding group because iOS is so gawd awful slow. I tried again at the 12 noon drop and same result. Paid big bucks and my family missed out on the new ride, all thanks to Apple OS.

Did they finally fix the bug in apple Mail app where it keeps popping up as the active window every 30 minutes no matter what you are doing when you have it synced to a gmail account? It’s existed for like… 6 years now at least.
Don’t have this issue and I have 3 gmail accounts syncing in apple mail… must not be a large number of people.

Maybe you’re just slow…

I’m not going to watch the video, but the thing I really want is the ability to change song info in iOS & iPadOS. Whoever decides some of their genre designations has limited knowledge of some genres. Found an album yesterday buried under genre “singer songwriter” for something that was nothing but standard bluegrass songs.
