Speaking of iMac G3s-the last two I bought(only one of which worked) were local purchases. When the seller started unloading stuff from his car, he pulled out two Macally bases that were purpose-made for the iMac G3s. They have a floppy drive, 4-port USB hub, ADB port, and two RS-422 serial ports. They connect via a single USB cable, and also have a rotating platform that with "nubs" for the feet on a G3 to sit down into.

They're a really slick set up, and I'm using both of them.

I desperately want a TAM also, although watching prices I don't think they've started climbing yet so am hoping to pick one up for decent price.

Two went today: An unboxed one with a missing rear panel went for £800 in Germany and attracted 40 bids. The second a boxed complete unit with a G3 upgrade in the UK only attracted two bids in the last 5 minutes and went for £675. Go figure.

With all this talk about iBooks I myself located a 14 inch 1.42ghz model and bought it just yesterday. Came with the original software disks and battery has somewhat of a charge. Had a spare 256mb ram chip so I installed it. Using it to write this post as a matter of fact!

How much did it cost? I'm looking for a late model iBook G4 14 inch for bringing to school, so I don't kill my MBP too fast.

i also bought a 14" 1.42ghz ibook a few months ago and gave it to my girlfriend. she uses it for watching dvd's in bed and seems well pleased with it.

Very nice score! I wish I would have that type of luck...

Yeah every once in awhile I find the top models for various ppc macs for reasonable prices. Guess I'm in an area where they're not that popular anymore.

Awww man. $5 for a Lisa? If only I could travel back to the 90's with $50 and get a 128K, IIGS, LISA, and SE30...

Are they actually CompuCable's iDOCK-2?

Well if iBooks are becoming collectable then perhaps I should hold on to the 4 that I have?

No, I don't think I will. I have to unload stuff shortly so everything except my iBook G4 and my Quad will have to go.

Shoot me a PM when you are ready to "unload" stuff shortly. I am prepared to make a nice offer!
