I got the updated version and the issue with the fonts on the files names is fixed but it appears something happened to the aspect ratio of my MP4 video files. It seems to be stretching the video
I updated the app today and I'm sorry to say that it's getting pretty terrible.
It now fails to play most files thus rendering it almost useless
The rewind and fast forward are bad
It tries to remember playback position but because of that there is no way to start the show from the beginning. You have to rewind all the way back which is a painful experience.
Sorry to hear that. Are you using Plex or NAS/SMB Servers?
Yea I'm getting the same error too while using an apple Time capsule with SMB, let's hope version 1.1 solves this issueNAS/SMB. I just tried using another NAS player in the store called NAStify and it played the files yours would not. I can send you one of the files for testing if you would like. The error I get is "unable to open file".
How do you update the app manually? Is there a reason that all of my files are having the audio down mixed to 2.0? It's happening on both DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1

Nice app, but please support PL store too.
I hate to be that person that repeats themselves in every thread (sorry).
It was mentioned that it will read from HDs 'connected' to Time Capsule, but will it read directly from the Time Capsule itself?
I sold my ATV2 and bought a Time Capsule with the hopes an app for the ATV4 would allow this.
Thx
Thanks for your reply.Hi!
To be honest, I have no Time Capsule to make tests, so can't give you an answer; However, as long as the time capsule has the feature to share files and be discovered by other pcs/macs on LAN, and not only to make backups, it will be discoverable by Video Explorer. Let's see if somebody with a TimeCapsule can give you a better answer...And Sorry!!
Latest version has appeared on my ATV - still not outputting surround sound for me, no matter what setting I choose in 'audio settings' - auto or Dolby Digital I am still only getting 2.0 from any file I playback. I've tried DTS and DD5.1 and they both are exactly the same.
It might be an idea to implement a 'jump to a time' settings, as it's very long-winded if you have to stop a film, to get back to the point you stopped at, as jumping 30 seconds a time, via fast forward takes a long, long time, unless I'm doing something wrong with the controller.
That aside, it works very well on my set-up so thank you.

Hi
I have a time capsule and the previous versions of video explorer didn't work for me, but since I updated to version 1.1 it reads and plays video off my time capsule with SMB protocol. I can confirm it works perfectly

Directory listing needs to be fixed to be natural listings.
ie... if it has a . or a + as the first character it should be on top of the list
It was like this in 1.0 but it has changed.
That's great news thanks!!!Hi

Nah, didn't change settings, of course I had to enter login details to access the time capsule, but the app saves the login info so you don't have to re-enter it all the time. That's great news thanks!!!
Did you change any settings?
I'll be getting it as soon as I get home, can't wait!!!
