A weird Apple word for the progress node of an audio or video track (the thingy you drag forward or backward to jump forward or backward).

There is also a "new" looking scrub bar for audio books and video podcasts in 3.0b. It has instructions that pop up on the screen when you press and hold on it. Very interesting.

Ya I heard about this, what does the scrub bar actually do? Just control the time in the podcast?

I'm pretty sure apple didn't make that word or phrase up. Scrubbing has long been a part of editing media.

What I should have said was a weird Apple definition :D

They frequently take liberty with common words and give them new, simpler definitions. "Scrubbing" involves highlighting particular waveform and playing it back. Its much more involved, by definition, than the Progress Node/Bar, but Apple has applied it here anyway.

Yes, thats it really. But when you touch and hold the node, it now (visually) pulses under your finger, and is much smoother for navigating through the live playing file.

They've also added 1x,2x, 1/2x speed switch, as well as 'ol fashion spring back 30 seconds button. All very welcome additions.

So useful I've begun setting some of my files as podcasts/audiobooks instead of normal audio/video just to use these features. :D

scrubbing goes further back than wave forms :D;)
(but i get what you're saying)

Video MMS. with a video record function, and a say 4/8 text cost, this could be rather interesting to see usage.

In other news, isn't Blackberry getting a Facebook direct upload video recorded on their phone? Or was it Nokia?
Late to the party, but putting in the effort, is Apple on this front...

I was able to receive a video as well after I updated to Beta 2 on a iphone 3g. The mms is hit or miss though as it works sometimes and sometimes it doesnt. I havent messed with any settings or called ATT to change anything. I have an unlimited iphone text plan. The video came just as the screenshots showed it would.

Can you save the video? Or do you just have to not delete that text message?

I have not been able to find a way to save the video. I would assume that option would be added later. So yes, if you want the video, you just have to keep the text message around.

I should add that I was messing around with a video and I could forward it to an email address. I did that but the video wouldnt play through my iphone email or on my desktop. I am not sure what format it was and I really didnt try all that hard to convert it. I think the person who sent it to me is on Verizon. So if you wanted to save a video, you can forward it from your mms. I tried to copy a video and paste it and I could not get that to work.

Hmm, yeah I think there will be an updated iPhone with video support else this feature would basically be useless... Question is, will you update just for that? Not sure I will unless there is something that I'd actually use and benefit from..
