Why can't the A4 display the 9 screenshots, as per the video, it's hardly taxing?
Or it could be a special internal build of iOS 4 to evaluate the features if iOS 5, without releasing the OS itself. In the video, there is a messenger bubble that is not filled in, which may imply there is something unique about this build.
It's on their site but in another colour, they do the same case with wood instead of carbon fibre, the leather case designed to work with the smart cover looks pretty good IMO

Also, oopsie hardware releases aside, how would a "supposedly" early software build of iOS5 end up in the prototype phone of some guy in South East Asia? Hardware production is outsourced to Asia, yes, but software would be held pretty damn closely. Maybe I'm wrong?

There is something nice about being surprised. I love the rumors, but when we see the real thing ahead of time, it sort of spoils it. (Like the iPhone 4 leak.) I love a good "one more thing." Hope there will still be some surprises left by the time it releases this winter or fall or summer (whichever it is).

I think these definitely hint at what's to come with the iPhone 5 and iOS 5. No doubt the features as seen here are not complete, but they seem to be in line with improvements that Apple might be considering with the next iOS upgrade. As for the iPhone 5, I am expecting a spec bump (A5, etc.) and a 64 GB option. It just makes sense with what's happened in the past.
Oh, maybe because they actually did get it to work right? Just guessing here.
That exposé thing is just so much better than the current lame multi-tasking that makes you have to scroll through icons at the bottom of the screen. What if you don't even specifically remember what the name and icon of the app you're looking for is?

The change in the folder linen 'slice' is rather suspect though, considering Apple have demonstrated, but not even got around to implementing that little design ‘flair’ in Lion yet!
Although anything that removes linen and other kitsch stuff is welcome with me!

From the video there looks like there is a lot of space between the front and back plates and the metal part....perhaps this is a converted iPhone 4 as this is not present on black ones,,,,a bad conversion at that.......
If the Palm Pre can do it with crappy hardware, and have live previews, Apple should be able to do the same...

how do you mean, specifically? neither me, my gf, or my dad have ever had an opportunity to bemoan this functionality. how does it impair our ability or cause us embarrassment?
Looks valid to me, and makes more sense than their current implementation.
Currently, when you're closing one of the MANY programs that are usually open, you can only interact with the small strip across the bottom of the phone.
Four icons at a time...you HAVE to scroll... and you can't use landscape mode to see more icons at a time either.
(Really a poor UI design as it doesn't make efficient use of the limited available screen space.)
Hopefully, we'll see this soon... (as well as the option for a landscape homescreen..... with active icons. :-/

I have been using the new four finger gestures enabled with 4.3.x and find them to be a great in combination with the current multitasking implementation. I think what is depicted is either a jail broken add-on, or an early tested and rejected interface.

I'm going to go out on a limb and postulate that the next release won't be iOS5, nor will the next phone be iPhone 5. Reason being, as someone already stated in the forums a few days ago, this release is more likely to be iterative--evolutionary, not revolutionary. The new design of iPhone 4 will stand, and the only changes outwardly might be the screen. Everything else is inside.
I think '5' is a catchy number, and Apple will reserve it for the 2012 iPhone. We'll see a whole new, magical iOS5 and with it, iPhone 5! Dun, dun, duuuuun!!! (or should I say, BOOM!)
I think you'll see iOS4.5 with all these cool little tweaks to the UI (and I REALLY hope improvements to notifications), and the new iPhone 4NS (New Screen or some such) in September.
