Video on PowerPC - Part 1: Playback on G4/G5

back to the VLC 1.1.12, etc...

PowerBook G4 1.67gHz, 1.5G, 10.5.8
GoPro HD Hero 2

Took multiple short videos with the camera, all at different settings, and nothing plays smoothly.

Read this thread and installed 2 versions of VLC. Tried playing files through it with even worse results than QuickTime.

Any thoughts? Corrupt install...? Any help would be so much appreciated.

the G4 should never be underestimated it's surpringly still perfectly usable in 2019 especially the dual MDD powermac. Who has played 1080p on their G4?

LOL!!!

It was a good thing for him that he generally knew what he was talking about. I just asked questions as he didn't really insult you if he felt you were asking for knowledge.

I wasn't a member here when he was but I've spoke to him on his blog...saying anything to him is walking a knife-edge tightrope

Try writing for his blog....quite the experience. Fortunately I needed brain surgery and I had a good excuse to stop. The part of my brain they removed was needed to write about PowerPC, I found out afterwards.
