Not to mention it's so big it's not a good choice for many mobile use cases...
I’ve been pleasantly surprised how usable the 12.9” iPad Pro has been in all the same contexts as my old 10.5”

A bit more cumbersome, but only nominally so.

I bought my first iPad (M1, 11") a month ago, turns out to be great for pdf reading and drawing. How people could even fancy that an iPad could replace a MacBook Pro is beyond me.

☝️ Btw, I tried using my Magic Keyboard (without trackpad) with my iPad and it felt like as if my hands where in boxing gloves, that were tied to my face with shrink wrap, that was glued to my legs, while someone was shaking me and screaming at me. So.. I'm not doing any text editing with my iPad, just reading pdfs and doodling with Procreate. 🙄

Gotta say the 11" felt a bit on the small size for typing when I used it in the past.

Agree, I handed down my 2018 11” IPP and picked up a 1TB 2021 12.9”.
Honestly can’t tell what I can do that I couldn’t with something that would be about 1/3rd the price.

ipadOS (I’m using the 15, beta 4) is just so fricken crippled. I went on a vaca in early July. Promised wife I wouldn’t bring laptop(MBP), was allowed only to bring iPad. I had to cheat, because I needed to create content in PowerPoint and adjust data in excel, I had to spin up a Windows desktop on AWS so that I could do these things effectively.

the fact I had to remote into a windows virtual machine so I could complete relatively basic work illustrates how much is still missing from iPadOS.
What did you need to do in PowerPoint or Excel that you couldn’t do natively?

You actually need a full desktop browser which requires a different OS so either MacOS, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, etc. That's one of the several reasons why iPadOS can never be a computer/laptop replacement
Usually you can force the web version of most things and use in Safari, just Google flat out refuse to do this. Maybe I have to use Chrome on iPad lol.
i have used Chrome on iPad and it doesn’t act the same. Beyond googles products, o365 or Salesforce, neither operate the same on chrome or safari on iPadOS:(
