Are you really? Why? Its utterly pointless. Maybe when I can have actual wireless charging so that my phone chargers whilst i'm walking around my house, that would be cool - or at the very least it charges whenever I lay it down on any surface. But having to put it on a pad which slow chargers the phone is really really useless.
While I agree that wireless charging isn't a game changer — friend at work has a Nexus 5 and he charges it wirelessly (I think he added some wireless charging sticker onto the battery for that to work). Nevertheless, after his excitement at the beginning, he now admits that it's nothing incredible. He needs to have the pad plugged in, so the convenience isn't that great. But it's there, he can use the feature if he wants to.
With Apple it's like that 2GB of RAM - it isn't necessary to have in my iPhone 6. But it would be beneficial for me as a user without costing Apple an arm. They chose to not do it, so now they did put it into iPhone 6S to make it more appealing, because it seems faster etc.
And it's those small things that drive me nuts with Apple. Sure, Android OEMs put a lot of unnecessary stuff/gimmicks into their phones. While Apple tends to hold off on a lot of useful features... As I user I just don't benefit on that.

But i thought 1GB of Ram was enough........

It was...
And it still is....

For hundreds of millions of people who are not computer geeks and know ***** about this stuff.

They will never know/feel the difference until it was pinpointed to them by a guy like you/us.

I wish Apple would put 3gb of ram. Sure, they do well with 2gb, but could be even faster and better with 3gb. Given their profit margin, they should give more ram. While most Android phones use 3gb, it doesn't seem efficiently utilized.
I wish there was a phone with optimization of iOS coupled with the generosity of Android phone specs.

I don't pay for ad blockers and prefer a separate browser as Safari is not snappy enough. Ad Block Browser is made by the same company who makes Ad Block Plus which is also free.
Since Adblock plus browser was released on September 8 then what did you use on you iPhone 6plus for nearly a year prior to that ? If you want like zero features in a browser then I suppose Adblock plus is good for you.

I'd agree for the most part, but I think there are some interesting applications of wireless charging. Some of the new cars come with wireless charging built into the center console where many people put their phones. It would be really useful to be able to just set down your phone and have it charge while driving.

There are new tech out there like Ossia Cota, that offer distance (30 feet but low power). I am crossing my figures till true wireless is included!

My stance on more ram has always been.... would I like it? Sure...... do I need it? nope. is it awesome to have it? Yep. I'm sure apple not putting it in earlier models has to do with them being a greedy company...... which I happily support (by buying their products). I guess the jokes on me.

Well the main difference having more memory makes is that you can run do more with your phone and it will do things faster. So I guess you think those things are unnecessary.

Are you feeling sore that you paid 5 times much for a phone that has less memory that a cheap HTC or Moto?

Nope. Don't mind paying for a superior product and user experience. There are other phones out there for people that aren't as fussy and who don't make enough money or who have less money to spend. Everybody wins!

Apple gets away with putting 1 gb of ram b/c they know they've got a lead in the user experience over Android. And they know their processors are really fast and their entire UI is optimized for fluidity. Apparently this matters alot to even the general public. So if they really felt pressure from Android they would increase the ram. But even as is, the iphone 5s feels just as fast as the latest and greatest Android phone with 8 cores. It's still smoother and that's what the customer notices.

LOL, a superior phone that has less capacity and is slower. And then you use that tried and true argument: that those who criticize are just jealous and too poor to afford. Riiiight...

For the first time ever on an iPhone, I feel completely liberated and don't have to worry about anything. Not that it was some horrible experience before. But it is essentially perfect now. I cannot stress this enough. This is the iPhone to have—especially for those who go years before upgrading. This model is incredible!

Don't like the shape and it's too light, so not interested. Still happy with my 5S.

So... what else could it be? How exactly do you expect him to test it?

It's enabled on the 6S.

Previous models are told to reload.

Jk what do I know. But it doesn't mean memory is actually the answer. The OS could handle it differently. Or the gpu

it's not about the Ram, it's about the time not being in the actual site, that has a refresh time to not miss any info.
even on iphone 6 you can easily open 5 tabs but they never refresh if you navigate in a hurry. if you let them in the background for 15 sec lets say, the site is about to refresh. this is about to be always with the latest news not about specs
For example www.livescore.com is refreshing even if you stay on it every 15 second i think

64-bit is something that others couldn't match by just slightly re-arranging things inside a phone to make space for more memory. You brag about things that others cannot easily replicate. That's the difference.

I don't think you understand what 64 bits means. It largely means that everything takes more memory. It's not inherently faster, it just means you can address more memory.

This is how Apple works. It trumpets "64 bits" and the customers go "wow"! But they don't know why it's good. The irony is that Apple has so little memory in their phones they'll actually need this functionality much later than everyone else.

You're also wrong about the "others." Linux is already 64 bit compatible. Android can roll out a 64 bit version at any time. They're just holding off since it just uses more memory. They'll only need it when they have more than 4GB memory or possibly more.

Sure, but the fact that those chasing specs forget is that when the ceiling is raised, developers build bigger buildings, rather than better, more space-efficient buildings. Then the higher ceiling is no longer high enough, and users start clamouring for more.... and the cycle never ends. Users need to keep the heat on developers, including Apple, to ensure the RAM footprint needed for apps is kept as optimal as possible. Was RAM the only way to store background pages? Couldn't Apple have quickly cached that page to disk and restored it again quickly, rather than reloading over the network? There's usually more than one solution to the problem.
There is indeed more than one solution to a problem. Also evident is that Apple couldn't solve this one without adding more RAM. It is dead clear that it is the extra RAM accounting for this very different experience. It is not iOS 9 which I have on my iPhone 5 - same experience with reloading pages and app data.

I can make a good guess why they didn't use page cashing on the flash drive for the entire page. Continual small writes to flash reduce its lifespan.

I believe small portions of reloaded web pages are stored in flash though, taking away some of that truism above. Restarting my phone brings back the snapshots of the previously loaded pages in the "tab" view, and reloading them restores them to their first loaded state, not the current state. It also saves any text I had entered into web pages. I suppose it could be uploading them to the cloud, but I'd be somewhat surprised about that as I've not enabled iCloud for anything except Find my iPhone.

So Apple should cut the amount of RAM, to keep the developers even more honest! LOL!

All those things are much much slower than RAM. That's the point, all the lack of RAM does is slow down the phone, nothing more.

That's not the case with the sites used to demonstrate it all.

Oh please, stop pulling numbers out of your ass.
My 6Plus couldn't even keep 3 tabs open without refreshing.
True that. And I hated having to copy something from a different app and pasted back to Safari and everything and Safari would be erased when I come back to it before I could post anything. All because of RAM. Anybody that acts like having too little ram isn't a problem is an idiot

Apple is such a greedy company. When iPhone 6 was released they could have put in 2gb of ram. Now they cojld have 3gb or even 4gb...
