WOW! A REDESIGNED HEADPHONES, MY HEART JUST CAN'T TAKE THIS EXCITEMENT!!!!

Is this really a front page news?

The apparent vents on the side are interesting.

They are magnetic. You need to have little steel plates implanted in your head. Then when you bring the buds close, they automatically snap to your ears comfortably, while at the same time starting your iDevice playing music.

u know that while controversial this would actually have people signing up for surgery. whatever the percent, it would be lower publicly on this forum but in actual fact higher compliance than the general public. i would not sign up. i say this publicly.

Haven't looked through this large thread but anyone who uses Apple headphones are doing headphones wrong.

There's plenty of brands to try to see the error of your ways, Shure, Klipsch, Ultimate Ears, Soundmagic to name but four. Hell even Sennheiser CX300 headphones can be purchased for £20 just laugh at Apple headphones.

Never ceases to amaze me how people think buying an expensive music player then matching it up with headphones that share quality levels with a cable tie makes any sense.

I like the current Apple headphones. They are the best ones for me. These ones look really weird and uncomfortable. I wouldn't wear them. Guess I'll have to buy and extra pair of the current ones before they are discontinued.

have you tried others? because people who have will tell you the apple throw away headphones are absolute rubbish. they typically hurt like hell after long periods of use as well.
do yourself a favor, even if you don't want to spend a lot of money. get some basic Senn's or Sony fontopia's.

Nonsense.

It actually helps prevent ear damage because you don't have to crank your volume up as it isolates your music from the background noise. You don't need turn the volume up as high unlike with earbuds in noisy places.

I talk about at the same volume. Your example compare different volume. So that is not fair.

They'll be crap headphones like the current ones. Spend the same amount of money on a different brand and get something better.

Laughable? No more so than the constant posts here like these that expect that when he said that, it would happen immediately. When he said it, I figured his point was that they were aware of the new leaks already happening as they had been. The point was that they were going to work toward stronger secrecy plans - you don't just pull a switch and all is done. You have to come up with a plan to do so. I think it's unlikely to expect them to revolutionize their secrecy protocols and implement it globally in one turnaround. It was simply an admission that they're not happy with their products leaking - and they didn't plan to just sit around and let it continue to happen without taking action.

I guess I don't follow the forums often enough to be sick of it yet. Still, it's not like people are saying Cook is a fool. They know he's a smart guy, but it is still amusing to those of us that merely see it as a bit of irony.

If you asked Cook today about that quote, he'd probably say he wished he elaborated, or at least waited until the leaks were actually under better control until he mentioned the words, "doubling down".

I wonder how much humiliation the leaker will face when he finds out the real one is actually different or the same original style...

Am i the only one who has noticed that each bud has 2 speakers. Interesting 3D sound aspect?

Pure comedic genius.

How could these possibly be comfortable?? That sharp edge must press against the front of your ear hole. If it is actually the next Apple headset, I'm sure they tested them thoroughly, but I can't get my head around how they'd sit right in your ears.

Very nice space age design however as people have said they do look very uncomfortable. I'm beginning to wonder if there will be anything left to announce on the 12th...

But since this is the iPhone, you need one that has a built-in mike and the iPod/iPhone compatible in-line controls.

I have the Klipsch Image S4i, a really nice model. Of course, the current Amazon price of US$68 can be a bit off-putting to some users. You can probably get by with the Sony DR-EX61iP, which sells for $30 on Amazon--and even the Sony model will likely have better souind quality than the Apple-supplied headset.
